***Bring In The Yule With Runes*** EDITED

The earliest rune-like markings were found in cave paintings dating from around 1330BC. The runic alphabet, called Futhark after the first six runes, was developed around 200AD. Runes have been used for thousands of years. They were more than likely originally used as a means of divination and as a part of religious rituals and over time evolved into written letters, words, and sentences. Each mark is in a straight line from a central point, making them more easily carved using a knife or other tool into wood and stone.

Our runes can be from stone, made from wood chips or bought wood squares, clay and/or even plastic. Use the word "marks" (above) to find the list of the original 24 runes. We will be making the original Futhark set and to complete our Yule gift let's make or buy a really nice drawstring bag to hold our 24runes in. see edit at bottom

Because this is such an awesome group I know that we won't have to discuss NO flaking since we don't roll like that. Please make this a beautiful set to be proud of! Mail promptly so your partner can place this under their Yule tree.
