I am sure alot of you out there have Etsy stores like myself.I have only made two sales so far so would love some extra promotion to spread the word about my store.This swap would involve you putting a link to your 5 partners stores on as many of your social network forms that you are a part of.This could be your Twitter,Facebook or Blog.I do however understand that we may not want to give out details of Facebook or Twitter so this swap is alot based on trust that your partners will carry out there part of the swap.It would be nice to send your partners if possible a quick email to let them know what you have done in way of promoting them and any details of where they can see this.Doing as much as you can may gain you a heart rating although everyone should be rated a 5 as like I mentioned this swap is based on trust.If you are not happy on rating without proof of completition please do not join.I hope lots of you will join though as there is nothing to loose and you may gain some extra sales ! When partners are assigned please send the link to your store in form of an email. Thank you and good luck !

There are other ways you could promote your partner's shop - for instance posting in the forum of a swap-bot group if you think the shop would be of interest to other group members, creating a treasury on Etsy featuring items from their shop, etc...

But perhaps you could make it an actual requirement to send your partner an email explaining what you did?
I don't think swappers are likely to lie to their partner about what they've done, but it would help give a definite deadline by which the task needed to be completed, and something specific to be rated on.

I really don't know much about Twitter but I sort of assumed most things posted on it were public? And the same goes for Blogs...?

Another effective promotional tool that has always worked for me is sending each partner our business cards, small pieces of our work, etc that each partner then sends out with their sales. For instance in EtsyDarkTeam where I am an admin, each month I run a promo swap. Each person then sends out 10 promo items to each partner. I send a business card with a soap sample or bobby pin for mine.

@Kessie Thank you for the ideas. I would like people to let their partner know in an email if possible.I don't want to make it an actual requirement though as that may exclude some people.You are right in saying that most social network options are public but people may only have facebook for instance and may not feel comfortable adding people as friends to look on their wall.This way I think I am opening it to more people and I am hoping people will do the promotion within afew days of the deadline .I hope you will take part too.
