Description:

I thought that for our first group swap it would be fun to put together a starter kit of sorts. Below I will post a list of things to include in your partners kit, everything is senders choice. The purpose is to send things to your partner that will hopefully inspire and aid in the creation of some marvelous new pieces. I always like getting something I might not have thought of using on my own. Don't fret if you don't do some of the art for which I have listed supplies. You can always use the ATC and inchie blanks in art journaling, or you can cut down the journal backgrounds to use for ATC's and inchies. This should be mailed in a large flat envelope to avoid folding anything. Because it's senders choice you can start putting it together now if you like.

The List:

-10 interesting ATC backgrounds. 3 1/2" x 2 12" or a bit larger to allow for trimming

-10 interesting inchie backgrounds

-3 journal page backgrounds 8 1/2" x 11". Please make all three different and on at least one make the background yourself using any technique you like, although you can hand make all 3 if that's your pleasure. (I plan to do some swaps in the future for single journal pages that can then be put in a plastic protector sleeve and clipped into a binder, as I love the idea of journal swaps but a whole journal is to much for me to do in a limited time and feel good about what I send.)

-1 pen - any type

-10 pieces of ephemera and/or collage materials (i.e. - pics from magazines, paper embellishments, vintage ledger pages, book pages, interesting playing cards or game pieces, unusual food packaging, etc!)

-3 pieces of ribbon at least six inches in length each

-5 buttons

-1 rubber stamp. home made or gently used are both fine. may be wood backed or clear stamp.

-10 stickers that are good for using in art. home made is fine, but no reward, little kid, disney type.

  • a tea, coffee, drink mix or treat for your partner to enjoy while making their art. For this check their profile to make sure you don't send something they can't have :)

This should give us all a nice refresher to our supply stash and hopefully inspire some great things! If I've left anything unclear please ask about it :)

This looks like a really interesting and fun swap! :) Just one little question...If we send an acrylic (clear) stamp, do we send a block as well or just the stamp? I have blocks and wouldn't need any others...I guess I could pm my partner about it. What do you think?

You can send just the stamp, but are certainly welcome to check if your partner needs a block or not :) I think a lot of people probably already have blocks, and they're not that difficult to find or expensive to buy so it would be ok not to send it.

Love this idea! Would you consider hosting another later in the month or in Feb.? I just can't do it by the 15th.

I would absolutely host another one :)
