Description:

I've hosted this a few times and it is great fun. Here is what you do:

Collect found randomness from your everyday life, mostly paper probably, and mail it to your partners. By found randomness I mean the following types of things: a cute tag from your new jeans, theater programs, a tea bag of your favorite tea, a cool place mat, promotional postcards, clean scraps of paper you find while out on a walk, work promotional freebies, free bookmarks from your public library, junk mail with neat art on it, brochures from your town, pretty candy wrappers, a paper restaurant menu, a section of your local newspaper, a very inexpensive goodie from a craft fair, a note card you found at a yard sale, a brochure from your vacation, a recipe your aunt gave you, the pamphlets handed out during a parade, a cool small thing you received in a swap, and the stickers you get at the doctor for being a good patient (you still ask for them too, right? :)

Note: Found randomness is different than regular crafting randomness. It is not a bunch of collage scraps. This is not a de-stash craft supplies swap. Please do not sign up just to de-stash ephemera you have already collected.

Anything goes as long as it is not dirty or beaten up and your partner has not specified that he or she dislikes this kind of thing. The idea is to get a little glimpse of somebody else's life through their found randomness. About a three days' collection of randomness is good to send. I like to collect everything interesting I 'find' in three days and not send as much older stuff.

International since this is low cost and we want to see found randomness from all over the world! You will send randomness to two swap partners.

Do not sign up if you cannot send or cannot send on time..

Have fun.

Will have to ban without notice people signing up with less than a 4.98 rating, recent or unexplained 1s or 3s, and/or fishy profiles.

This is my kind of ephemera! THANK YOU! <3

Thanks!

Should we include a note?

LittleMissBlue 02/20/2012 #

I am a newbie, am I okay to take part ? I'm very willing and have no intentions of being a flake

Changeling 02/20/2012 #

KraftyKaren, yes, I think it is important to always include a note in a swap saying the name of the swap, who you are, and a bit about the items.

LittleMissBlue, thanks for your interest. I think your profile looks okay for participating.

So just stuff it all in an envie and send?

Changeling 02/20/2012 #

Yes, but not messy like. ;)

I'm having a little issue - I don't have much randomness in my life, apparently. I've been collecting since the 2nd of Feb and I think I have enough for one nice envelope to one partner... but certainly not enough for two. I'm afraid I might have to drop the swap, unless someone wants to do a private trade with me?

I'm sorry, I would really rather send one really good package out instead of two that I feel are just too small.

I'd love to join this if you host it again, unfortunately I need a few more fives before my rating is at a 4.98 - great idea though!!
