I am not Chinese, but I love the Chinese tradition of the Red Envelopes. Here is a little something about it I found on Wikipeda, in case you did not know. ~Usage~ Red envelopes are often presented at social and family gatherings such as Chinese weddings or on holidays such as Chinese New Year. The red color of the envelope symbolizes good luck. The money amount contained usually begins with an even digit, as odd numbered money gifts are associated with funerals. At weddings, the amount offered is usually intended to cover the cost of the attendees as well as help the newly married couple. During Chinese New Year, red envelopes are typically given to the unmarried by the married, regardless of age. SO HERE IS THE DEAL: You will have 3 partners. For each of the partners you will make or purchase a Chinese red Envelope. Inside the envelope you will place a letter, poem, picture, or some sort of treat you think that your partner will like. (Check out your partner's profile for ideas). Send extra goodies, for hearts. Place all of this in an envelope and send it out to your partners. THE FINE PRINT!!! Sorry, but no newbies on this one. Profiles with a rating of 4.8 or higher only. this is an International swap. No no-sends, I will ban if I think you will flake. Have fun with this swap |
