Map of the Imaginairy

I like maps. I like drawing. I like imaginary things. Therefore I am more than a little bit obsessed with maps of made up worlds. So let's make some!

For this swap, we'll each make a fantasy world map. It should be 8.5x11 (normal printer paper size) or bigger. You may fold it to send, since maps are made to be carried around.

Rules:

• must include colour and/or be distressed (old-looking)
• handmade, not digital
• original map: not a copy of Middle Earth, Narnia, New Zealand, or anyone else's made up world. (But you can base it off a story/myth!)
• minimum 3 geographical features (lakes, rivers, forests, mountains, swamps, etc)
• minimum 3 civilization features (cities, towers, roads, castles, provinces etc)
• include labels for above features
• a title/name of world
• a legend
• a compass rose

Some people were worried about the scale of this project, having never tried something like it before, so I've started a topic in the forums here with tips to make it less overwhelming.

All skill levels welcome! It's a requirement that you make an effort. It is not a requirement that you be a professional artist.

I'll angel this if needed but let's just all be nice and avoid that :) I'm going to require 5 type 3 swap ratings to join. Message me if you wan't an exception or have unexplained bad ratings.
