Description:

First, many thanks to our member @AmaranthSpirit for giving permission to use this idea/variation (it is similar to a swap she's hosting for UK members only)!

For this swap, you will find and use an old photograph in your possession -- either one you personally took or someone else took ... perhaps it is a pic of you when you were younger, or a car you had when you were growing up ... or even a photo of an old photo

NOTE -- If you do use a photo that you did not take yourself, then please also include a photo of your own that you did take -- after all, we are all Sharp Shooters in this group, and have lots of pics to share!

So dig around in your old photo albums and find a gem to share. You will then send this to ONE (1) partner.

~~Please note that it IS okay to scan the old picture in and have it printed out on good quality photo paper to stick on cardstock, in case you don't want to part with your old pic~~

Please have photo(s) either professionally printed or well-done on your own excellent equipment

Size and presentation are sender's choice, although if mailing naked as a postcard, 3" x 5" is minimum size must be to meet post office specs.

Please include a note to your partner with some background info about why you like the photo (or photos)

Happy Snapping!

lou we all know photos of long ago where not that good a quality when I was growing up. NOR did I have a camera back there did not get one till I was 18. So can photo be a little older then when I was growing up. But then again I had anilog camera so printing was not all that crash hot. So will give you the best I could from back then. 1972 WAS A LONG TIME AGO LOL When your approching 58 it seems it anyways. LOL

Col makes a good point -- what if you don't have any photos of your own? So, if you are using a photo that someone else took, then please also be sure to make that clear and to include one photo that YOU took -- see the "NOTE" above in main body of swap. Let's have fun with this one and not get too bogged down with too many details ...

my worry hun is that the quality of photo's i took back then was not as good as is today. So I took photo's back then but with old method photos were not as good as they are these days. So what am asking is should we be worried bout quality as long a photo is clear to see.

Hey Col, I guess "it is what it is" and that would be good background info to include in your note --

I think part of the charm of old photos is the difference in quality. That's what makes them "old". ;>) Watching for now till I clear some swaps.

This is a great idea, if there is ever a round 2, would you consider upping the # of partners? I think it would be great to get pics from more folks - really add to the collection! Thanks for always hosting great swaps, I love the Sharp Shooters!
