Momento Mori Necklace- Handmade

Momento Mori jewellery (not to be confused with Victorian mourning jewellery which was more personal and sentimental) was decorated with skulls, skeletons, bones, coffins and worms.

For this swap you will make 1 Momento Mori inspired necklace for 1 partner.

This swap is for a somewhat elaborate and unique macabre creation.

Momento Mori means remember that you must die and to cherish each day as it is a reminder of the imminence of death. Incorporate skulls, skeletons, bones, coffins etc into the design of your necklace.

Your necklace can be made from a combination of beads and chain, different style chains, layers of chains, dangling chains, a mixture of different glass, stone, shell, pearl or shaped beads, charms, even up-cycled vintage necklaces. I'm sure you can think of other ways that look good. What I'm trying to say is DO NOT just hang a pendant on a ball chain or thong.

The pendant should be around 2 or 3 inches including any dangly bits.

Do not use wooden or plastic kiddie-kraft beads.

Check your partners profile for their preferred necklace length and any dislikes so you make something you think your partner will love to wear.

Please spend time and effort creating a stunning necklace that your partner will be proud to show off. You do not need to use expensive supplies but make it special. Spoil your partner with a decadently dark creation.
