Description:

Have you ever sat down to write, and just couldn't think of a thing? Have you looked down at the blank page and heard it mocking you? Have you broken your pencil in two out of sheer frustration at your brain's inability to produce a coherent thought?

Then this is the swap for you!

For this swap you will send a list of 10 writing prompts to three partners, via snail mail. You can send the same list, or three different lists, that's up to you. You can write the list, type it up, put it on a postcard, make flash cards, wrap them up in fortune cookies ;D. Be as simple or as creative as you have time for.

This can be a list of single words, short phrases, quotes, or lines of diaglogue. Anything that might spark an idea for writing. Examples might be "moonlight", "Write about a favorite childhood memory", "walking down a forest path", etc.

You will have three weeks to write up your lists and send them, which should be plenty of time. And since this doesn't require personalization, you can start your lists today even!

Hopefully we will all receive lists that will inspire us and help us to keep writing!

Rules: Newbies are more than welcome. Experienced swappers with a rating of 4.5 or higher. If you don't intend to send, don't sign up. And be sure to rate your partners so they know you received the list.

That's a good idea, lw2dragonflies. What would be an example? Also, could a prompt be a picture/photo/postcard? Like, the prompt could be to write about what's depicted in the picture? Just an idea

I don't see why an actual image couldn't count as a prompt (just don't send all images though, mix it up). :D

an idea for visual journaling in my opinion would be say: collect as many images of doors as you can find, create a collage and then walk through one of these doors into.... or maybe take a decorative calendar, and pick an image from one of the months. why did you choose that door?
