Some people do not get a lot of mail...ever...except maybe bills or flyers, and that's a shame!

For this swap, you will send something to the person identified by your partner. This person might be a lonely neighbor, a grandparent, or anyone they feel might enjoy a little pick me up.

Please identify (by relationship) the person you want a parcel sent to in the comments section below, and list some things about them so your partner will know what to send. PLEASE make sure you also list any allergies. When you are assigned your partner, please send the person's name and mailing information (this person can live anywhere in the world, including the US) to them within 5 days.

For the swap, please send a small gift or gifts --- purchased or handmade --- valued at $5-10US or equivalent.

This is a BIG RULE: Include a note saying why you are sending to them. Some people may get this and get freaked out because they do not know why they are getting these goodies. Please PLEASE include a note..something like: "Your granddaughter Liz/ neighbor Joan/ daughter Anna thought you would enjoy getting something in the mail and it would make your day."

Another BIG RULE: Please ask in the note that the receiver let their benefactress know that they have received their swap. Thi is important because we cannot use delivery confirmation internationally and this is the only way we will be able to get rated.

You must have at least 5 rated swaps, a fully completed profile, and a description of your friend in the comments section below by the March 20 sign up deadline. I reserve the right to screen and ban as I see fit based on a number of factors. Please pm me if you are not sure whether you qualify.

I ban after sign up but if you note any problem children who have joined, please let me know. Thx!

To summarize:

1 partner

$5-10 spending range

Outside USA only

MUST include a note

MUST ask receiver to advise their benefactress when swap arrives

Full profile, 5 rated swaps, and description of your friend in the comments section below

Please realize that YOU personally will not recieve anything from this. Someone else will! But you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you have made someone else's day a little better!

Any questions, please pm me. Thx!

My childhood friend, Margie, who is in her fifties and lives in Canada, has had a really rough couple of years in just about every way you can think of. She is a single daughter, mother and grandmother who has spent her whole life looking after others. She is an artist who loves to draw and paint. She also likes needlearts and would love anything handmade, such as a bookmark (she reads a lot), needlebook, pincushion, keychain, zipper pull, etc. She has simple tastes and believes in holistic living. She likes blues and earth colours. (She is allergic to metals so no jewellry items that touch the skin please.) Thx!

My mother Heather (who i do not live with) She never gets anything in the mail, not even bills...she has lots of pets (2 cats, a black miniature schnauzer dog, and a pionus parrot). She loves to sew, draw, take her dog for walks, garden, scrapbook and collects old fashioned teddy bears. Things she might like are pretty or unique fabrics (small pieces are fine), scrapbooking papers or stickers in dog, cat or travel themes, different colored threads, bird themes, pet themed pins (the kind you pin to your backpack-she puts them on her dogs sweaters), handmade bookmarks i'm sure she would love, buttons, artist pencils, or anything else that has to do with her interests. She also likes to make sock monkeys/animals, make dolls and recently is getting into art dolls. her favorite color is red. and i think that is all i need to say!

I would like for this swap to go to my mother-in-law Peggy. She has lived alone for the past for the past 20 years and doesn't get too much mail. Two years ago her very last friend in town moved 20 minutes away, so she has been feeling especially lonely. She likes bath products, body lotions, lip stick,(nothing too shocking, she is 83), loves gardening, word puzzles, romance novels, tea, chocolates, music from the 30's &40's, and loves to commiserate over the terrible state the world is in. If you could send something to brighten her day I would be so happy! Please do remember to include a note explaining the swap since whe would otherwise get quite freaked out. Thanks for swapping!

Terry this is a lovely idea my person is my mum she looked after my dad for 8 years with cancer and now is soo lonely except for her little dog Winston, she loves her garden and helping others through being a counsellor with the salvation army.I think she would most like pretty pens and notepads or smelly sachets she loves vintage lace and old world things no perfume she is allergic to most.Anything small and petite she is a romantic soul. All her life she has looked after others.
