Description:

This is the 2nd in the series. It is a lot of FUN and a great way to make new FRIENDS. You can join in at any time.

IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST SWAP....you will get a journal or notebook, with 50 or more pages.

Decorate the front of the cover however you like. On the inside of the back cover write you name, address and swap-bot name. This is so eventually your journal might be returned to you.

In the first entry, write a little bio about yourself (about a page give or take).

On the following page you will write 1 journal entry. It can be about your day, about the world, your life, use a journal prompt, whatever you want it to be about. There will be a minimum of one page of writing, but more is always welcome.

On the next blank page you will write one journal prompt or question for your partner to answer and then send the journal off to your partner. That’s it! You are done, just wait to receive a journal in the mail.

IF THIS IS YOUR SECOND SWAP....you already have your previous partner's journal. You will answer the journal prompt you received, journal one page about yourself, then enter a new prompt and send it on to your new partner. You are using 3 pages (minimum)...two you have journalled on and one has the next prompt.

Anyone can join these swaps at any time. Some journals might die out, but some could go on and get filled up and be returned home. So be sure to include your name and address inside the back cover so when it does get full you can get it back and see all the wonderful places and people it has met.

I hope this all makes sense, and please feel free to ask any questions.

really like the idea of this, will you carry on the swap so we will get our journals back????

@sweetest0sin and others who might be thinking the same question.....The Shared Journal Experiment #17 was in the Top 10 swaps…Fantastic but unfortunately it’s USA only. JenL the Swap Coordinator gave her permission for me to start a UK only one.

It’s not labour-intensive like keeping a monthly journal. It’s not a Round Robin or Circle Journal so there is not the worry of “will I get my journal back?” But you might get your own Journal back by chance.

At the end of the year I could ask everyone who participated to send the journal they currently have back to the original owner whose name is on the back cover.

Yeah, the "50 pages" + "only swapping once a month" combination bothered me when I read the first one... sounded like it would take two years to come home! And what if the series was cancelled?

But I thought, maybe people will write more than one page. And maybe they will do private swaps in between the monthly ones (I hope the people who have my journal do). I also put a "if you still have this by Nov 2012, please send home" notice. I doubt it'll be finished by then, but I can always participate and pass it on again.

I am quite used to this sort of swap as it's quite similar to the way decos etc. work, but I realise that many of the people who get the journal may not be so I tried to leave clear instructions.
