Description:

buy a box of pop tarts in your favorite flavor--any flavor. For this swap, we are using the box of 8, no bigger please! (see the above picture for reference for quantity...if you cannot find a Kellogs Brand, a generic pop tarts brand is acceptable as well..it may say "toaster pastries" rather than pop tarts)

Eat the goodies inside (first fun step! lol)

Second step..Stuff the empty box full of fun --it can be anything you have that will fit in it and fill to the top with random items such as:

embellishments, deco tape, post-its, crafting supplies, non expired coupons, ATC's, recipes, ribbon, stationery, sticker sheets, pens, memo sheets, drink packets, teas, samples, small kitchen supplies, cosmetic items, keychains, magnets, etc..

handmade is fine..as long as it is nicely homemade...

You can mix and match items. the only objective is to fill it full.

Third step: seal the box and mail it! (try to mail it naked--with the addresses directly on the box--however if your post office tells you cannot mail this way, just enclose in another package or box and mail it--either way is fine)

Anything goes! Please feel free to use items from your personal stash..you do not have to shop for all brand new items

RULES:

NO trash, leaking pens, dried or chewed writing utensils, crumpled paper, old receipts, paper scraps. Nothing torn, broken, stained. if you are mailing edible or cosmetic items, please make sure the items are not used and sealed in the package.

if you are a smoker, please be considerate and wrap your items in dryer sheets before you mail.

This is NOT a profile surprise swap so you may receive items that you do not like or cannot use..please do not rate based on this. You can always re-swap.

I will be checking all profiles--no newbies for this one..sorry.Only active swappers with good ratings.

Thanks and please feel free to post any questions/comments below.

EDITED: some post offices do not allow these boxes to be mailed naked. It is fine to mail it any way that will be accepted by your local post office--whether it is naked or in another box, envelope or covered by blank paper. No one should be poorly rated based on the outside packaging.

I love this idea altho mailing just the pop tart box by its self makes me very nervous.... They dont seem to sturdy. Will you still meet a 5 if it is double boxed?

MrsAndrews 07/13/2012 #

I'm pretty sure I could send a pop tart box from my post office if the whole thing was covered in packing tape. What a great idea!

ladyaries7 07/13/2012 #

@heatherwill -you can place the pop tarts box in another box and mail it--thats fine too. I noted in the swap requirements that this is fine.

@mrsAndrews -thanks! :)

rifkasorah 07/13/2012 #

can you wrap the box in paper and mail that way?

ladyaries7 07/14/2012 #

@rifkasorah -yes you can provided it is sturdy and approved by your local post office. some branches are picky.

rifkasorah 07/15/2012 #

I was told I would have to wrap it. I just dont want a bad rating for that.

ladyaries7 07/15/2012 #

I edited the swap to note that rating should not be based on outside packaging--while some post offices will allow this, others will not.

I found 16 boxes and 6 boxes, but so far no 8's. does anyone know what stores sell the boxes that hold 8??

Miabiff 07/27/2012 #

I bought my box at Walmart but all my local stores carry the 8 count. I've never seen a 6 count.

ladyaries7 07/29/2012 #

@crazypurplelady -try Walmart or Target if you have either one near you..they sell quantities of 8 and 16, i believe. I also saw them at my local 99cents store and my local drugstore (like cvs, walgreens, etc)

Update: To clarify certain matters before i assign:

The box must have a quanitity of 8. The reason why is the box size. 6 is too small, 16 is too large..so please make sure your box is the one that has 8 pastries.

You do not have to mail the box naked!! Please do not rate on packaging! If your post office allows it, go ahead but if not, please place in wrapping, box, envie..whatever works.

Also: if you cannot find a Kellogs Brand of pop tarts, it is acceptable to use a generic brand of 8. It may say "toaster pastries" rather than pop tarts but it is essentially the same thing.
