Description:

Many of us have encountered at least one poem in our lives that feels like a gift. We've tucked it away in our memories like a piece of grandmother's jewelry and seldom remember it's there. We may not have any real use for it, but we wouldn't want to part with it because we love the way the words sparkle. For some, poems are learned in childhood. For others, they're enjoyed as adults when read to children, discovered through classroom assignments, or found while thumbing through magazines. However the poem has made its way into your life, your experience with it has been uniquely yours.

The challenge of this swap is to choose one poem that has mattered to you and send it as a gift to your partner. Introduce the poem as you would introduce a friend, explaining where you were when it entered your life (if you can remember) and why this poem is special. Honor the poem, and your partner, by presenting it as you would an important gift. For example, you may want to design an envelope that hints at the subject matter inside, include art (ATC, journal page, twinchies, etc.) that illustrates one or more of the lines, or tuck in a purchased item relating to the theme. This is entirely up to you; however, your presentation should help your partner appreciate the poetry.

If you have never loved a poem, this is a good place to begin! You are invited to search for something you like and allow it to become special to you as you prepare this swap for your partner.

In the unlikely event of flaking, poetic justice will be swift and certain. Flakers will be permanently removed from the group and reported to FOPS. I will angel this swap if you find it necessary to rate a one.
