Description:

Easy swap. Newbies with filled out Profiles encouraged. I understand we all have to start somewhere and this is a great swap to do that. Send a stuffed envelope with assorted goodies to one partner. Please send, at least a long business size envelope that measures approximately 4 x 9 inches, however you can certainly choose to go bigger if you want to. There is no minimum or maximum number of items to send, just make sure your envelope is stuffed full. The items you send are SENDER'S CHOICE. This is not a Profile swap, so please do not spend a lot of money shopping for profile surprises. This is more for you to send items that you have on hand, that are in good usable condition. This does not mean you can send your trash, send only items in good, usable condition. Please do not send items like, your used candy wrappers, or written on apt. card, or loose memo or post it scraps, etc. Do send items from the list below. If you are unsure of items, you can ask me. Examples Include (but are not limited to )

Post cards,

Greeting Cards

Ribbons

Bookmarks

Buttons

Scrapbook papers, chipboard, etc ephemera

beads,charms

game pieces

altered art supplies

stickers

recipes/recipe cards

old photographs

small books

handmade items

craft supplies

teas/coffee/drink mixes

fabric scraps, sewing items

ribbons, yarns

rubber stamps or stamped images

movies/dvd's/cds

seeds

Or anything else you want to share that is in good, usable condition.

PLEASE REINFORCE your envelope with tape at the seams or use a larger envelope, if you think there is a chance it will explode during mailing. You may also choose to put stuff in a baggie in case the envelope tears in transit. This is a USA only swap. Have fun. No recent no sends allowed. Please rate your partner. No FLAKERS ALLOWED. Do Not Flake. I will list all flakers. I reserve the right to ban individuals.

Please do not send individual scraps of memo paper/notebook/post-it type paper, etc. You may send the whole memo pad or notebook but scraps of note paper does not equal scrapbook papers.

New Swappers- Profile Help: To fill out your profile, go to Profile. Then select Edit Profile. Next select Personal. You will be brought to a screen where you can fill in the sections or add your own information. Things like favorite colors, crafts you do, items you collect, hobbies, likes/dislikes, etc...all help us get to know you and it helps your partner to send you items that you will like or that you can use.

USA Only. No recent unexplained low ratings.

This is such a neat swap! I am so excited to put this one together and to see what I get! Thanks! :)

Mamabemus 10/26/2012 #

if you go to the postal service web site (usps.com) you can get flat rate bubble envies for free, stuff them as full as you want (as long as it still closes) and it's only $5.30 to mail. sometimes a small envie that's too heavy can weigh more than that.

wolfeagle 10/26/2012 #

@carogal You're welcome. @Mamabemus That's a very good tip. Thank you.

I collect menus and unused hamberger wrappers for stationary if I were to mail some how many is the limit and is it okay to mail my partner these type items ty

wolfeagle 11/ 2/2012 #

No, that would not be acceptable for this swap...it would fall under the please do not send your trash...like candy wrappers,.... hamburger wrappers, etc. ;) Thanks for asking though.
I am a huge fan of recycling and have a group dedicated to making crafts from reducing, reusing and repurposing items. You can check us out......under groups.....Crafty Recyclers.

This is probably a very silly question, but it's my very first swap so I'm a little iffy on how things work. Do we choose our partner or are they assigned?

Lunia 11/ 4/2012 #

RachiiChu they will be automatically assigned to you. Once the Swap has pasted its sign up date you will be able to look on the right hand side of your screen and view the partner you have been given. From there you will be able to click their screen name to end up on their profile page if you needed ideas on what to send (even if this is not a profile swap it doesn't hurt to send something you know they like). If you have any questions feel free to ask me anytime. I have been a long time stalker and finally signed up myself.

RachiiChu 11/ 4/2012 #

Thank you!

Lunia 11/ 4/2012 #

Anytime ^-^

wolfeagle 11/ 5/2012 #

Thanks Lunia. And RachiiChu, one of the very first things you should do is check out the FAQs and New User Info pages in the Help section. They are fantatsic and really do a good job explaining the swapping process. Welcome to Swap-bot.

I can't wait to see who I'm matched with :) I'm ready to stuff an envelope!

BusyB 11/10/2012 #

These swaps are so fun! I started mine today and will add more every day until its full! Well I always look at my partners profile for surprise ideas. Also do I dare say this but IF you need an angel or two I have lots of great stuff to share. Happy swappin'! Thanks you for hosting Angela.

wolfeagle 11/11/2012 #

Thanks BusyB.

Margothecat 11/12/2012 #

This is one of my favorite swaps. I always check my partner's profile because I love to spoil my partner :)

Loveelliebelle 11/16/2012 #

I'm so excited to do this one again! I had a great time last time & I loved everything my partner sent. Already putting my stuff together. ^.^

pkmccann 11/16/2012 #

I'm a newbie... this will be one of my very first swaps. I'm being "coached" by a long-time swap-bot friend, and am truly looking forward to the fun stuff I will be trading! I'm already collecting tid-bits for yet-to-be-assigned partner! >

kitkatcandypack 11/17/2012 #

I can't wait!!! I'm super excited!!! :D This is my first trade and I just cant wait to send off my swap!!!

pbcquiltlover 11/17/2012 #

I'm glad to see so many other newbies...this will be my second swap on swap-bot: my first being a fat quarter fabric swap, although I've participated in and have been a swap hostess on another site for years. My question is this: should we stick with the legal sized envelopes or just go with the flat rate envelope or mini box - the box would hold about the same as the legal envelope but I could cram a lot more in the flat rate envelope for the same cost... =)

wolfeagle 11/17/2012 #

Using the flat rate envelope can be a cost effective way to mail items, especially if they are heavier items, but all that is required is the 4 x 9 envie, many people choose to use the 6x9 or flat rate envelope.

I need to send out my package tomorrow, Monday, the 19th. I've never done a swap where the partners weren't assigned. I understand if the swap has assigned partners the day after the deadline is the day you receive your partner's address. How do I know who to send my package to?

wolfeagle 11/18/2012 #

A host has 7 days to assign partners. Today is the first day partners can be assigned for this swap, (And they will be) but, in general, a host has 7 days to do it. A good host will review EVERY profile of everyone who has signed up and that takes awhile. ;) You can then find the partner info by clicking on the who do I send to link, off the swap in your dashboard. If you still need help, after partners have been assigned, just PM and I'll help you find the information. Take Care and Welcome to Swap-bot. Also-reading the help section is a must for new swappers-it covers so much information!

misskrystalx 11/30/2012 #

For all the new swappers, there are several groups that you can join that are specifically to help newbies. Also, you can always post in the forums if you have questions. And of course, you can always ask the hostess of the swap, most are always eager to help,as evidenced by our wonderful hostess in this swap!

Wolfeagle, thanks for hosting this. These are my favorite type of swaps!

wolfeagle 12/ 7/2012 #
