Description:

Halloween is my favorite time of year, especially for the decorations. If Christmas sometimes gets celebrated again in July, why can't Halloween get celebrated sometimes in May too?

For this swap we will be making or purchasing an item that could be used for a Halloween decoration. If you purchase, this item should be around $7, and if you make it, it should at least take 2 hours to complete.

If your swapper gives you extras such as candy (note-make sure your swappee is not allergic or vegan), costume items, or something that can be used on a daily basis aside from Halloween but also fits the Halloween theme, please consider giving hearts in your rating.

This swap is US only because I want to encourage people to make large items while keeping shipping costs down.

If you are a newbie or have a rating lower than a 4 please contact me before joining.

I would rather have halloween decorations because I never know if my costume is going to be seen or not!!!

I love this idea but am disappointed that you are telling us what we would have to do to give hearts. Hearts shouldn't be required as part of a swap, they are supposed to be optional and up to the receiver to give or not. If you ever host another one without this requirement I would love to join.

I don't think there is anything wrong with 'just a 5' it means you fulfilled the requirements of the swap. This swap sounds good I LOVE HALLOWEEN! Can you remove/or revise all the heart requirements?

Bonjour 03/29/2008 #

yeah I can, I will change it.

cool sounds fun and now that the requirements for hearts has been removed I will join

Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday so naturally I'm in! As for Hearts---I ALWAYS send more stuff, because, as a pack rat personality, I collect up a lot of stuff and love to share it around! I always hope I can Make Someones Day! :) If whoever is my partner reads this, PLEASE DON'T SEND CANDY as I am Diabetic!!!

I love Halloween because of the day and also since it's my wedding anniversary:D I have decortations that I keep up all year long. To my partner; Send whatever makes you smile. I'm sure I can find a use for just about anything Halloween. If my grandkids don't try to swipe it first lol :D

um....is it alright to send $7 worth of things?

Or only a $7 min. value thing?

I know, silly question...but from the wording...I just recently had a poor rating from a partner who misunderstood the requirements...and have had uber picky partners before (no problem...people can be picky if that's their thing.) ...I just want to make sure I don't join a swap that I may not have the supplies for (I haven't checked yet...but I'm afraid that the things that I haven't used, are multiple smaller cool items).

There's time...so I'll sign up anyways...but still would like to know for sure to know if I may need to shop for this one :^)

Hah! YES!! I have an 8 foot spider web to the side of my porch (ok...I live in a trailer...but even if I had a kick arse huge house...he'd still stay up)...and I decorate him for the seasons (along with my rubber skeleton (he reminds me of Akhmed from Jeff Dunhamm's comedy skits) that is still wearing his santa hat and top 'cause they're sooo cute, that hangs just inside the window of my van's side door).

tinsle wrapped along the whole web (a great big red sparkly web) for x-mas...right now (it's been snowing and I have to hang half off my front porch to decorate him) the 1 foot spider in the middle has on bunny ears and is holding a basket full of easter eggs (heh...glued them into the basket to keep them from blowing away)...

haven't decided if he's getting anything for any summer holidays...(what few there are)...

I was really thinking that there should be one main item (decoration) given in this swap; either a crafted thing or store bought one. It doesn't exactly have to be LARGE, but it should be substantial enough to use as a decoration. If the item you craft is expensive to make perhaps less time is needed on the item...bottom line is I just want the items to be something you'd be proud of displaying in your home on Halloween or even all year round! It's sort of hard to make things even, but if you'd love to receive the package you're sending it should be good. Also, the $7 limit is a guideline to try and keep things as even as possible. It's hard to keep a craft as even as a store bought piece, so I made a 2 hour limit of work on it to also make things more even.

You can include smaller things to go along with the theme of Halloween, but those would be extras beyond the $7 or the 2 hours it took you to make and isn't completely necessary if you don't have the time/money/means.
