The best size envie for quarter fold cards is A2 which is 4-3/8 x 5-3/4. Just verifying that size is OK.

what do you mean dont fold when you send.

I noticed that my postoffice now measures envelopes for amount of postage. I had a square one and they charged me .20 extra. Just keep that in mind.

I mean some people get the envelope that was already made by them then they fold it in half to fit it into the addressed envelope. Don't do that. Also to @gingerlei your envie size is okay. Don't understand what you mean by quarter fold cards.

@ladydy5 - the US post office has a requirement that disqualifies envelopes from being machinable if "the length divided by height is less than 1.3 or more than 2.5 inches". So that's why you get charged more for square, they can't go through the machine. :)

how would we send them? in a larger envelope?

@ladydy5 If you make your own cards (or even if you buy them), a quarter fold card is an 8-1/2 x 11 piece of paper folded into 1/4ths. It is a pretty common size card so if someone were to use our handmade envies for their cards, they could use an A2 envie. A half-fold card is an 8-1/2 x 11 piece of paper folded in half, and those cards use a 5-3/4 x 8-3/4 envie.

so we just trade hand made envelopes?

@Gingeriei that is confusing, just make an envelope out of pretty paper, magazines, calendars, paper stock,whatever. You send what you want and go for it. @mommyistatted2 Yes, yes, yes. What is so difficult here, this is the 12th month doing this. Of course you would put the envies you make into larger envelope to address and mail to your swapper

@manbay I agree. I'm primarily a postcard sender, so I have no idea how to make an envelope. Comments and questions help those of us who have no idea.

And to be fair to @mommyistatted2 instructions do not say how to send. so if one of our handmade envelopes were to be used as the "mailing envelope" that may be okay to. I wouldn't expect to be rated less than a five, nor would I give less than a 5
