UPDATE: DEADLINE IS EXTENDED BECAUSE I INITIALLY HAD IT SET AS JULY 4.

This is a monthly swap. You do not need to have participated in the previous swaps to jump in on this one. I hope you'll join us in getting to better know your group mates one sentence at a time.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • A pocket sized journal (mini-comp, small notepad, handmade, etc.) with a minimum of 31 pages (equal to the number of days in the month - one sentence per page)

  • Decorating supplies (Anything you feel is appropriate to personalize the journal)

  • Legible handwriting and colors that are not difficult to read (please don't use neon green pens or, god forbid, yellow!)

Each day you will write one sentence describing your day. This could be something important/funny/scary that happened, a highlight of the day, etc. I realize it's only one sentence, but please try to be descriptive. "Best day I've had this week!" is a huge cliffhanger! Please explain why.

Please be sure to label your journal by month and year on the spine or front cover. Please also include your SB handle. Decorate the front cover as you wish, but know that the focus of the swap is 'day in the life of...', not an artistic masterpiece. Sticker slap is even allowed.

REQUIREMENTS: Must have participated in a Type-3 swap in the last three months. Must NOT have an unexplained 1 rating in the last month.

Can we write more than one sentence? Like 2 or 3?

PukeFacedFreak 05/15/2013 #

@Aumonae I realize one sentence is a challenge, but it is also a writing exercise. You do not have to try and write about everything that happened in a day, just pick one aspect. If you would like to include an extra to your partner that explains your days in more detail, that is up to you, but the core of this is the one sentence restriction.

Aumonae 05/15/2013 #

Thank you for the clarification :)

my journal will be a weekly based one, so it will have 3/4 days in a page, since it's only a short sentences journal i'm thinking to use that, but it won't have 31 pages, that's ok?

PukeFacedFreak 05/18/2013 #

@okellyhh are you are using the correct 'journal' size? It has to be able to fit in your pocket, or palm-sized. It seems like it would be difficult to fit numerous days of sentences on one page. It is probably best to stick to the swap guidelines so that you cannot be rated down on that. One sentence per page.

okellyhh 05/18/2013 #

what's the correct size for it? mine is 3.5"x6" 3 days each page.. i always use that kind of journal to summerize my entire day, and what i know this long that mine is consider a pocket journal..yes my handwriting is small =) sorry it doesn't stated on the swap description that it should be "one sentence per page".. only "Each day you will write one sentence describing your day"...

also.. cause i read it a few times now.. i catch "Best day I've had this week!" is a huge cliffhanger! Please explain why. - explain why it's the best day of the week? so it will be another sentences explaining it?

thank you for answering =)

PukeFacedFreak 05/20/2013 #

But it does say minimum of 31 pages based on the number of days in a month. I will edit it to say one sentence per page.

And if you want a sentence to include "best day I've had this week" it should be something like "Thanks to a surprise delivery of flowers by an anonymous admirer, today was the best day I've had this week!"

okellyhh 05/20/2013 #

got it.. well if it can be handmade i can always make something.. as long as it's a palm size right? ;) just around a size of a blackberry phone :D

okellyhh 05/20/2013 #

sorry.. another question.. since sometimes i saw lots of different people write it differently.. 31 pages means can make with 16 sheets so have 32 pages front and back right? i usually found people wrote for example "10 pages, 20 front and back"

PukeFacedFreak 05/23/2013 #

I interpret it as either being just the front one page, or front and back is two pages. It just seems like writing all that out is a little overboard with so many small details.

ladydy5 05/25/2013 #

Now I am confused! I will just follow descripted instructions hoping my rating is good.

PukeFacedFreak 05/26/2013 #

Yea, all those little detail questions and answers really do kinda muddle things, but it is honestly a simple swap.

fawnscrafts 06/ 5/2013 #

I think this is an awesome swap, even if for some reason a person does not get signed up, and they have started the journal, they will have a nice addition to their own smash journal.

Can we 'smash' journal this?

fawnscrafts 06/ 5/2013 #

oh ignore my silliness, I saw a PM and got too excited.

PukeFacedFreak 07/ 3/2013 #

How did I not notice that I made the deadline a Holiday!? I am moving the deadline up to the 5th. headdesk
