Is there any way to extend the mailing date to the 3rd? The 2nd is a postal holiday in the US and every single one of my local post offices are closed all weekend. Even if I put it in the mailbox today, it won't be dated until the third. Anyone else in the US that didn't send yet will end up with the same issue.

Oh shoot...I didn't think about that. Mine might be dated the 3rd too. I'm going to try and find one open on Saturday though. I should have mailed it as soon as I finished it. Sorry guys :(

I was just going to ask about the date issue, but I see someone else already has. I was planning on finishing over the weekend and I just realized that the post office will be closed on the 2nd, so mine will also be postmarked for the 3rd even though it will be finished today. I apologize for my mistake of not realizing mail wouldn't be going on Monday.

Hmmm I had a post office open today so I must have lucked out. Got mine sent earlier. I was a little concerned but went in anyway. I personally dont mind anyone being a day late because of the holiday, though I am not running the swap.

I know post office closings are a regional thing- just like the schedule is generally based on local funding. Most the post offices here, excluding the main office and maybe one other one, close exactly at 4:00 pm most days and don't open until 10 the next day. It's a sad state of things to realize that in another decade we probably won't be able to send a letter by snail mail- only parcels.

FYI I will be changing the due date to the 3rd. Hopefully you will all have yours in the mail by the 2nd anyways. I'm doing this due to a conflict with post offices in the U.S. not being open to date stamp anything mailed on 9/2. Thanks for understanding!

I don't see us not being able to send letters via mail, there has been a huge surge in people sending letters and letter sized things in the last few years due to swapping and penpalling.

Hi @Katcouch This issue wasn't being able to send it at all, it was a matter of the postmark being stamped a day late since post offices were closed on that holiday. Awesome that yours were open though! :)
