Personally, I love trading ephemera to use in my junk journaling/smash booking/scrapbooking and other paper crafting (ATC's, card-making, mail art, etc). So I thought I'd create an ephemera swap here in Newbie Helpers to help ease some of you guys into ephemera if you've always wondered at what exactly ephemera is. Of course, this isn't a swap just for newbies, so if you're a seasoned swapper, do feel free to join in! So what is ephemera? Ephemera is, in a dictionary sense, printed material meant to be used for only a very short time and not meant to be preserved. So, as you can see, the definition is pretty wide. I think collecting various bits of ephemera just comes natural to those of us who love all kinds of pretty/unusual paper and print. Here are some examples of ephemera: tickets, brochures, maps, menus, postcards, ads, invitations, fliers, calendar pages, book pages, magazine pages, posters, you get the idea. (If you have more examples, please list below!) For this swap, you'll be sending your partner an envie (any size) with TEN (10) pieces of fun/pretty/interesting/unusual ephemera. DO NOT send anything ripped or dirty. This is sender's choice, so even if you don't particularly care for an item your partner sent you, be gracious and thank them for it anyway. Please rate and send ON TIME. If I look on your profile and it appears that you have a probably with that, I will remove you from the swap. Most importantly, have fun!! :D |
