Description:

The inspiration for this swap came from the pillow pictured HERE (scroll down)
I thought it would be fun to swap little squares, along with buttons, to eventually make a similar version of this pillow, or whatever you fancy.

I found the following PATTERN .
It is very similar to the square in the pillow, and thought it would work well for this swap.

After making a couple sample squares. You will need to make a change to round 3 instead of doing 3 dc in the space between each corner you will do 3 hdc . This will make the sides straighter, and less curved. You will also not add round 4.

The square measures 3 inches (7.62cm), with out the last round.
So please “play” with the pattern to get a square within a ¼ inch(.63cm) of this size. The square should be fairly tightly crocheted so the “holes/spaces” will be fairly small.

Although the pattern made is several colors, you will be using one color, to make a solid square. You will make 4 squares, and each square should be a different color, to send to your 1 partner. This is a great way to use up those odds and ends of colors you have in your stash.

Since this is senders choice on colors, you can get started right away, and have your little squares ready to go!

Along with the 4 squares you will send your partner 4 buttons. They can be new on a card, or from your stash, as long as they are clean, and in good useable condition. Please send buttons, that have holes in the center for sewing on, not the kind with a shaft on the back. Please do not send white or black buttons.

If there is enough interest, I will continue this swap so we can collect enough “little” squares to make a pillow top.

This should be a fun swap, please send on time, and communicate with me, and your partner if a problem arises. I will angel if needed.

Any questions please ask!!

Is there a certain fiber you want used for the squares? =)

And do we have to use that pattern? :)

@Sooty2Shoes - any worsted weight yarn, I use mostly Red Heart since I have lots of it, yes, we are using that pattern, that way all the squares will be the same, only in different colors. My plan was to be able to make a pillow like the one in the link.
