C+P Collage with a Photograph

Using an actual photograph, create one artful cut & paste collage to send to your partner. The theme is open - minimum size of your finished collage is 5"x7" (actual photo used can be any size).

The photograph you use can be found or personal (taken by you or by someone you know). It must be an actual photograph: printed professionally or at home on photo paper, or produced by the camera itself (Polaroid). Photos can be altered digitally or manually before being incorporated into the collage.

Some ideas for incorporating a photo into a collage:

• use the whole photograph as a background and build layers upon it
• cut out shapes or parts of the photo and use them as layers in the collage
• use the photograph as the focal point and build around it (scrap book or journal style)

It's up to you how you wish to use the photograph in your collage, these are just a few examples. Here's some visual inspiration, too:

Send your finished collage in an envelope, with a note stating what swap it's for and a little info about what went in to creating the piece.
