Description:

Second round - just in time for Valentine's Day!

I can't be the only person who enjoys nude art and vintage nudes. I've seen many mention in comments that they like getting ATCs of that nature. If you join this swap, please be aware that you will be receiving three cards that could be considered offensive by some. For this swap, please think more Picasso and Toygun Orbay and Yoes Rizal and less John Holmes. Think more abstract, softer, vintage, sensual, you get the idea. I hope. For ideas, google 'vintage nude' and look at some of the images that surface.

~ Three partners, three cards. One card to each.

~ This is an international swap. Newbies are welcome to play.

~ The theme is vintage nudes/nude art. However, any exposed skin can be nude. It doesn't necessarily have to involve the 'naughty bits' graphically. I have seen some incredible cards with legs and high heels. While your cards will be mailed in time for Valentine's Day [unless you are located a great distance from your partners, of coure], you don't -have- to follow that theme. If you wish to, use the holiday as inspiration.

Typical ATC rules apply: Your cards must be 3.5"x2.5". Your cards must be flat enough to fit into a sleeve if your partner chooses to put them there. Your cards must be sturdy enough to qualify as cards.

I will drop anyone that has a rating of less than 3.0 and/or more than two no-sends. Everyone deserves to receive something. Please keep up your end so nobody has a bad experience. Newbies are welcome to play. Thanks.

For this swap, especially. If there is anything you absolutely do not wish to receive because it is offensive under any context (though if you feel the need to put several paragraphs here for this, please don't sign up) please mention it in the comments. Also, be aware that just because you mention it doesn't mean that you will avoid everything you wish.

Sounds like fun! Alas, I'm not artistic enough to participate :(

missnatalie 01/ 8/2007 #

Neither am I, Lily - that's why I use clip art. :) I can't begin to imagine what an attempt by me to draw or paint a naked body would look like. I'll spare everyone that. Haha. :D

Zmrzlina 01/11/2007 #

Clip art is wonderful for these sorts of images. I have a small collection of Dover Art Clipart books with CDs and I love using them for ATCs.

Really looking forward to this swap. I've started my cards and hope to be able to send the day I get my partners' addresses.

My cards are done .. you can see them if you want at http://farm1.static.flickr.com/151/35458396556a251bb1do.jpg

I did my cards last night whilst doing vintage decos. They are on my flickr.

FingersInc 01/20/2007 #

I have some 1950s "pinup" advertising "ladies" would that be ok? Or what era would they have to be to be considered vintage?

mercuriousmith 01/20/2007 #

Personally, I like the look of those 50's pinups more than that of the women of the 30's and earlier. They're all great though.

missnatalie 01/22/2007 #

That is fine, Colleen. Just as long as they are tasteful and not John Holmes. ;-)

nniiccoollee 01/24/2007 #

Thanks for accepting newbies! I'm really excited to participate in my first swap.

strandloper 01/25/2007 #

What does ATC stand for? I've participated in two swaps (original photographs & mix CDs) and now that I look at all the swaps I see ATC in many of them, but have no idea what it means. I even checked the FAQ but that wasn't any help.

I got an atc from you oday for this swap. It is wonderful. However I can't give you a rating if I'm supposed to because I can't figure out who you are. Please let me know & as soon as I get my internet back in March I will leave you a rating.

holmesgal 02/ 4/2007 #

I have sent out my Vintage cards :)

aya 02/ 6/2007 #

Hay! I send mine about a week ago, if you got it please drop me a line (or else, I worry!)

artantics 02/ 6/2007 #

Caitlin, Your gorgeous girl arrived yesterday. Thanks you.

Marg

Hi, Aya - I got your (and my first!) ATC on Friday. Sorry I haven't written sooner to thank you! It was really nice of you to include a letter about your card and the artwork. I wasn't sure what exactly to expect in the actual mailing and as this is my first swap/ATC's, you gave me a few ideas.

Margaret - I also received your lovely card yesterday. (I'm not sure of your user name here.) That photo is absolutely gorgeous, and I love the colors!

Group - I wanted to ask a couple of questions: 1. What steps should I take here on swap-bot now that I've sent and received my cards (waiting on 1 still)?

  1. Do you all put a word/title on all your cards? I didn't put titles on mine, and as I look through cards online, I see that many do have titles.

Thanks, everyone! This has been a lot of fun and I definitely want to do it again!

Hi Aya, I received your card a couple of days ago but have been away and couldn't thank you. I must say, the young woman on the stamps looks like she is from somewhere warmer than where you are!! Thanks for the cheery note. It was unexpected and I really enjoyed reading about your first winter in New York!

nniccoollee, About a week or so after the final posting date for the swaps, you will find, in the swap description, a new link where you can go to rate your partners. I panicked the first time I did a swap because I couldn't find what to do, then then the link magically appeared!!

I don't always put a word or title on my cards, but sometime they just seem to need a little something and a word does the trick.

I'm usually too slack to put title and series number on the back but I notice a lot of people do that. When I figure out how to make a label with most Of my info already on it,and a little pic, maybe I'll add that as the finishing. touch!

Marg(aret)- your swap partner

holmesgal 02/12/2007 #

Hi there just letting everyone know that I recieved ALL the cards I was suppose to get Thank You I love them all! I have also signed up for the next Vintage nude #3 too :)

Say got a question - I noticed you all had covers for them - where am I am able to find the clear slip coverings at?

Mystical Angel

TheQueenBea 02/14/2007 #

I have received cards from Crystal and Kathy - lovely, lovely cards. Thank you.

About the clear covers - you should be able to buy them at a comic shop or shop that sells those card games like Magic. You can also get them online.

nniiccoollee 02/20/2007 #

Thanks for the really terrific card, Cheryl! The photo is ever-so risque, while still classy.

Also thanks for the response Marg! It seems like the nice thing to do to give someone a positive rating and some feedback and I was totally lost!

Best, Nicole

artantics 02/20/2007 #

Veena, I received your card today. I love the idea behind it (no pun intended!) and will certainly tuck it away where all good ideas are stored.

artantics 03/11/2007 #

Kate, I am sorry it took so long to let you know I received your card. I have been away and came home sick! Anyway, thank you, she is gorgeous.
