Mail Art: Alter a SHIPPING Envelope!

I don't know about you but I am not much of a letter writer so although I love a good Mail Art envie they are usually too small for my purposes. I do ship loads of small packages off to swap partners so can always use a cool shipping envelope.

This swap is just for SHIPPING size envelopes - 6x9 and LARGER. Padded or not. Recycled envelopes are fine to use (just cover everything and make sure it can be closed properly)

This is the time to pull out all your mixed media, collage or painting skills. Cover the whole envie in whatever style you love. (Your choice - but its nice to check your partner's profile). Please put thought into it, don't just slap stickers on an envie.

** Also, somewhere on the back put YOUR mark (signature, initials, whatever) AND the month and year. I like to do this and when an envelope gets reused it tells the story of its journey!

PLACE YOUR DECORATED SHIPPING ENVIE IN ANOTHER ENVELOPE and mail to your partner - they can be the first to send it on it's journey ( or hoard it, like I sometime do.)

If this catches on I will do a new one every month with cool themes.
