YYSRR: Homemade Junk Journal Round Robin

I am thinking ten pages is too many for me, that would be , um, not counting the cover, 9 spreads? So the journals would go to 8 others before coming home...but maybe regulated send dates would help keep them all moving. hmm, that would counteract the big number of sendings...oh, or is it 5 pages folded into ten, dang it now I am confused, I'll have to think about it some more!

You almost have me confused Carroll! Haha! Ok, I was thinking, that if we use 5 papers, pages or whatever you want to call them, sewn down the middle becomes 10. If we use up one for the front and back cover, that leaves 9. if we all do one full page spread on our own, that leaves 8 for others to work on.. I was going to set the actual number of pages to however many people sign up, plus two, one for the cover and one for our own work. For mine, I was going to use a mix of watercolor paper, large envelopes, paper bags, and perhaps a piece or two of scrapbooking paper..

Sorry, but I think I'll have to skip this one :(. I'll be away for the whole second half of July, and I don't want to start a RR and have to pause in the middle of it. Looks like so much fun, though!

I need to make sure everyone understands how we will send this swap. In the group forum will be a sending list that we will follow from the first send out until you receive your journal back. You will only have about 3 weeks from receiving a journal to work in it and then get it sent on its way again.. This is to try and prevent this swap from taking 6 months or more to complete. As I write this there are 6 participants so it may well take that long anyway with the mailing system the way it is.. We will keep the number of pages we send out equal to the number of participants so each person will work on one double page spread, although they do not necessarily have to treat the double pages as one large spread... they may do each side as a separate spread. I use the term page, but keep in mind that not every "page" must be an actual page. There could be "pages" made from everything from water colour paper to paper bags and painted magazine pages. Each participant is free to construct their journal pages from whatever they choose. When I assign partners, please ignore that and find out who you really send to in the forum!

I will be editing the number of swap partners to equal the number of participants just before I hit the assign partners button.

What size? I'm ready to cut grocery bags and such!! ;)

@ShannonArtsyFartsy .. I'm leaving size up to each person but I'd like to keep the maximum at about 8 1/2 x 5 or 6 when closed to keep the mailing costs down to a reasonable (if such a thing exists) amount.. :)

By the way, whether you send your journal in an envie or well taped up and naked is up to each person.. The postal ephemera that gets added when you send it naked is a pretty cool addition.. You simply add your work to the pages, fold it shut with your work showing on the outside, tape the edges well so that nothing will fall out but keeping in mind that the next person needs to be able to slit open the edges to open the journal to work in it, address one side to the person you send to next, add stamps and mail it like an extra fat postcard.. If ou have added bits that won't mail well this way, or your not comfortable sending one this way, then by all means, use an envie. :)
