JG: Altered Greeting Card Journal: Round 1

Lets make use of those piles of old greeting cards! The goal is to eventually have enough altered greeting cards to turn into a bound journal. Each swap will be for one altered (painted, collaged, etc) greeting card that will be sent to your partner. After several rounds, you can then bind your pieces of art into a journal using one of several methods that we will discuss more later.

For this first swap, let's take any greeting card between the sizes of 4x5 and 8x6 and transform it into a work of art for our partner. Keep in mind that it will eventually be put into a journal as part of a signature so it must be able to open and close after altering it, much like it does in its present state.

Use paper, paint, magazine cut outs, doodles, small bits of ephemera, fibers, charms, etc to make our cards.

Mail your altered card in a secure (well taped) envelope. Be sure to identify what group and who it's from.
