You Are Beautiful

This morning, I asked my mother how I looked on my "last day of work." My boss had decided that my temp-to-perm position wouldn't be "-to-perm" and so I found myself feeling all sorts of negative.

My mom's response to me: well, your shirt could come down a little further... She was indicating that my normal-length, totally workplace appropriate shirt showed off my fat belly more than she thought was attractive.

I love swap-bot, and I know that we are a community filled with women large and small, many of whom - for different reasons - has been concerned about how they looked.

Well, I'm here to tell you: YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.

For this swap, we will all have 1 partner. We will write a letter (2 pages at least!) TO OURSELVES about how we are beautiful, talented, wonderful. We will be kind, loving, forgiving. We will not be nasty or shaming.

In addition to this letter we send to ourselves, we will send a letter to our partner, also 2 pages at least, introducing ourselves, and talking a bit about our particular insecurities / body image issues.

One more thing! Send your partner a profile surprise that will make them smile :o) We all deserve to smile, and I think that this is a great way to be kind to ourselves and to each other.

I am making this a Type 3 swap, for a couple of reasons:

1) Our letters will likely be time-intensive. I have appreciated the couple of swaps I've been in that have required me to bare my soul, but those often require more thought and effort than something less vulnerable in nature.

2) Your "profile surprise" can certainly be a craft - many people on this site are crafters, and I think it's great to cultivate that talent and mutual appreciation here.

This is a USA only swap - I may host others if there is interest. There will be no rating requirement, although I will require that all participants have successfully completed 5 type 3 swaps, and they have no recent unexplained 1s or 3s.
