The lovely @crb22892 created an international version of this swap, and a few of us who are particularly tight on funds wished there was a USA only version- which I was kindly given permission to create! So here's the deal: Once partners are assigned, you will create a piece of cross stitch embroidery in whatever size, depicting one of their geeky loves. Then you mail it to them! Simple, right? There are loads of free patterns online for Doctor Who, Pokemon, Firefly, you name it. (Or, if you're talented that way, create your own!) It can be an image, a popular quote, whatever you have inspiration (and time) for! After signing up, feel free to list your absolute favorites in a comment. Profile checking is also a good source of inspiration. I'm taking people with 5s only for this, as it's pretty intensive and not easy to angel. No newbies, sorry. (If you're under a 5 but have an otherwise fantastic track record and a good reason for it, message me about it and if I trust you'll fulfill the swap, I'll allow it.) The timing on this is far enough out that those who wish to do both swaps should have time to do so. Enjoy and happy swapping! REGARDING FINISHING: Finishing is sender's choice. To complete this swap and earn a 5, all you have to do is complete a piece of geeky embroidery your partner will enjoy, then mail it by deadline. If you want to wash, iron, and frame the piece before sending it that is your choice - but it should totally earn a heart!

I'm a big fan of Harry Potter, Mass Effect and Pokemon (Vulpix, Eevee and the evolutions, Luxray, etc).

Also love Doctor Who, Star Trek, Zelda, Dragon Age, Skyrim...

I love Doctor Who (the newer version, I haven't watched the classic Doctor Who yet!), Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion, pretty much anything Mario relevant. I don't know if Supernatural counts as geeky, but I love love love Supernatural.

LOVE Doctor Who (Matt Smith the 11th Doctor is my favorite), BBCA's Sherlock, The Big Bang Theory, Alice in Wonderland, Wizard of Oz,, (not sure if the last two count as geeky) Lord of the Rings, and I also love neuroscience, not sure how that could be stitched but since it is geeky I figured I'd include it.

Question: How do we finish the design? Is it sender's choice, or do we ship it unfinished and let the recipient decide how they want to finish it?

Finishing is sender's choice. If you want to finish it perfectly and put it in a frame to mail it, that's awesome and should totally earn hearts- but not everyone has the time(/money) to do that. So the swap is complete as long as the design is made and mailed.
