Description:

"1950s Home Appliances" Profile Decoration Swap

In the 1950's, Advertisers told men nothing would make a wife smile on Christmas morning like a new electric appliance! There were plenty of them being introduced! Look for a few images of 1950s Home Appliances, anything from Automatic Coffee Makers to Vacuum Cleaners, and post them on your partner's profile!

To paste a Swapbot pic, this is the formula

! [ ] ( Put the link here ) With NO spaces! put the link between the curved parenthesis

<350 pixels wide

Look for an image you like, right click on that image, and you will see on the menu, near the bottom, "View image info" click on that. A new window will open, showing the image, and in the many lines of type above, ONE will be highlighted in blue. Copy that. then when you type the formula above, put the image information in between the curved parentheses.

For example, I just searched for red shoe images and found many. I needed one small enough to fit in a profile, smaller than 250 pixels wide. I found this: https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR78GqCmeFtsOiYfVeH_Sr3eH0kLJiGB4055qPxSfKOxJpe5C-4rA

I will paste that here, using the formula above, with that image info between the curved parentheses:

And behold, red shoes.

You must have a 4.95 rating for this swap. Newbies are welcome. Please remember to rate for this swap! Please do not flake!

Remember to have fun, and if you don't know what this Mangle was for, it was for ironing sheets, linens, if you were careful, even your hubby's shirts! I gave up ironing in 1969. I know people who still do ironing. One hopes they don't use this behemoth!

Happy Swapping!

Wow, exciting theme!

When I was a child, there was a laundry room in our basement, with a wringer washer, (and later, a dryer) an ironing board, and a mangle just like this one, only with a flat bench instead of a chair. I'm 64 years old, and most of my younger friends never heard of a "Mangle".

I have never seen or heard of it before but it is cool!
