EYBS Zine

Zines were made popular during the punk riot grrrl movement in the 90s. They are independent publications that feature art, poems, articles, photos, diatribes, reviews, etc. Simply put, they are like mini-magazines made by one or more people (sometimes a collaboration). They can feature pretty much whatever you want. Typically, the master copy of a zine is photocopied in black and white and then distributed. You can give out your master copy if you don't have photo copying abilities or feel free to photocopy in color or black and white and send the photocopied version to your partner.

You don't have to fold your zine this way but it is customary. Feel free to put it together as you wish. I just ask that your zine is postcard size or bigger and features 6 pages of content and a front and back cover (8 pages of designing all together). Postcard size is customary.

Run down:

• 1 zine (6 pages content + 1 front cover + 1 back cover= 8 pages at least..There is no max..make lots of pages if you like!)

• Can be any size but please make it postcard size or bigger

• If you use an outside source, please cite it or give credit in some way. Don't plagiarize your first zine!

• Credit yourself for your zine and put identifying info somewhere on your zine (name, email, and date).

• Your zine needs a title, volume number, and issue number

• Feel free to put ANYTHING EYBS related (sex, feminism, self love, explicitness, curse words, etc) and be aware that you may receive something that could offend your sensibilities.

• You can send the master zine or the photocopied zine (which is customary). Photo copy can be B&W (customary) or color.
