Description:

I had never made a zine until I joined Swap-bot! I've only made about half a dozen different ones so far but am really enjoying it.

A zine is a small self-published book. Originally they were created by hand and then photocopied, but increasingly people are using computer printers. Mini-zines are usually 8 pages and made out of a single sheet of paper. Zines are usually produced in editions of less than 100. They can be sold but are more often swapped or given away.

For this swap, make an 8 page zine out of a single sheet of paper -- A4 or 8"x11", depending where you are.

The subject of the zine has to be something to do with weather. It could be about rain, about hail, about sunshine ..... You can use words, pictures, quotations, poems, photos -- whatever you like.

You'll get the best results if you are careful when doing the folding and cutting. Precision folding means your book will line up better.

Can we maybe have more than one partner? Making multiple copies is easy and in the true spirit of zines. :)

@Isadora Wing - I thought about that but was aware that not all of us have easy access to photocopying or printing facilities. What I'll do is to set up a thread once partners are assigned so that people who want to swap their zines with more people can do so privately.

Sorry, friends -- I had a ditzy moment and put the sign-up deadline on a day when I will be away from home and my computer and walking along a beach (probably cold and windswept and quite possibly raining!) in Lladudno.

So I hope you all don't mind -- I've moved the sign-up date and the completion date on by a few days so that I can assign partners promptly.

Apologies for this inefficient moment!
