Description:

I love playing with my tape! Any excuse to tear off a bit and I'm right there. So, for this swap let's make a swatch deck.

  • Use 8 white index cards or white cardstock cut to 3.5" x 5" or 4" x 6"
  • Decorate the top 1/4 - 1/2" with one color of washi tape using the following guide of one color for each card...
    • red
    • orange
    • yellow
    • green
    • blue
    • purple
    • glitter/metallic
    • black & white

After you decorate the top, (just a strip of tape folded over so it shows on both sides or something more elaborate if you like) cut some 1/2" pieces and scatter them on the card. They can be orderly in a line or helter-skelter. The samples are just representatives of that color.

So, on the card with red tape on it, you will choose a few of your red tapes to sample. When your partner receives your deck, they can add to it from other samples they have received or add bits of their own tape to it. Do the same for each color.

I don't want to set a limit on the number of little samples you add, but at least put three or four per color.

When partners are assigned, please send on time and rate promptly.

I had to make sure I had enough of each color and I do! Made these today and they were wildly fun. :)

Index cards are actually 3" x5" not 3.5" but if you already cut yours, don't worry too much about the size. Sorry about that. :-P
