I'm very excited about an event here in Seattle called The FEEL GOOD Project that will be serving homeless individuals providing haircuts, massages, pet grooming and care, acupuncture, and just generally spreading joy and comfort. I will be helping in a number of ways before and hopefully that day, but I feel moved by a calling I guess to do something a little personal - that's where you all come in. I am gathering a collection of postcards, stationery, and pens that participants can take with them so they can reach out to someone they love and let them know they are safe. My goal would be to have at least 100 items with stamps on them already. NOW THE SWAP DESCRIPTION Kind of a short turnaround because the event is September 4, so I'd love if you spread the word. For this swap, you would send whatever you feel moved to donate - postcards (non-touristy), stationery, envelopes, pens, post card stamps, or first class stamps - no minimum, just what you feel like. I'm saying non-touristy cards because it wouldn't make sense for a homeless person in Seattle to send his loved ones a card from Boston. But if you have touristy Seattle or general Washington State ones those would be fabulous. My address is below - I'm sorry there's no official address for the agency to send to - this is something I'm coordinating personally with their blessing. If you include an email with your package, I'd like to follow-up with everyone by emailing a few pictures from the day. Then send your partner a postcard about what your passion is for giving back to the world. Postcard for your partner is sender's choice. Thank you to anyone who participates. It's really because of swap-bot that I had this idea knowing how important a piece of mail can be. Donations can be sent to me at: Kris J, 2933 2nd Ave, #208, Seattle WA 98121 Not that I expect it, but if you want to send something more than an envelope that will fit in an apartment mailbox, PM me and I'll send my work address. If you have any concerns or want some swap-bot references, I'd be happy to talk to you individually. Just PM me. Again, thank you and blessings to you! |
