-Standard size is 4" x 6" inches but can be larger if you prefer. Larger may require additional postage.

-Please use a sturdy backing such as a piece of a cereal box.

-All postcards must be mailed naked unless there are elements that may come off during the postal process.

I sent a 6.25" x 12" postcard with a standard 49 cent stamp last December. It was a paper collage, so it was flat.

Are you certain the recipient didn't have to pay some postage due? I find that post offices differ in how they determine costs based on odd sizes or fatness and like that. With that being said I got a bird shaped card just the other day with only a first class stamp. I thought for sure it would cost more.
