Voracious Letter Writers Only, weak need not apply

Do you LOVE writing and receiving letters? I mean LOVE it? I don't mean like and I don't mean think it's kind of neat. I mean, do you about bow down and worship your mail box? Are you, in fact, a voracious letter writer? If so, this swap is for you!

I want a pen pal. A REAL pen pal. One who will write back to me, and write back to me again ... and again and again and again. I want to write letter to someone, anyone, who will commit to sharing a, hopefully, enduring pen pal friendship. There don't seem to be many of us left.

I'm talking about the kind of pen pals who get a letter, sit down with a cup of tea or coffee to enjoy, read over it again and again,a and then often reply right away! Maybe not right away, but within a day or two at the most. The reply goes out, and your pen pal, eagerly waiting at the mailbox, does the same thing when it arrives. Stamps and missives and envelopes flying back and forth across the country ... Your mailman starts to recognize your names! This is what I"m talking about ... voracious!

I tried to start a swap like this a couple years ago, and people joined, but it petered out, at least with my pen pal, after only a few exchanges. This is why I'm saying that "the weak need not apply." Yes, you there, lurking in the corner muttering, "but my hand gets tired," or, "I can't afford that many stamps." YOU go away. This swap is not for you!

For this swap you are only OBLIGATED to write ONE letter, yes, but I'm starting this on the honor basis, hoping that you will write BACK to whoever writes to you, and that you will commit to replying when your partner writes back. It's NOT required for the swap, or for the rating, no, but PLEASE consider this when joining because I'm really only creating this for those of us who who really want a dedicated pen friendship.

Also, by letter, I mean an actual sheet of writing or notebook paper, HAND WRITTEN, absolutely NOT TYPED. At least two pages (front and back is 2 pages), but preferably more.

So, consider carefully. Thoughtfully. This is no 'fly by night' swap. It's meant to be enduring.
