Description:

You will have one partner in which you will go out and hunt for a fairy and make a little home for her. The home will be the size of a small mason jar (I use salsa jars, nice wide mouth and easy to use), no smaller. You will decorate it with as much love and care as you can because you're trying to make a home that your fairy will be happy in!

Where you can get your fairy is up to you. Look under the mushroom caps (cut out of a magazine), try for a druid fairy and look up in the branches (use a little figurine) or even catch a dream fairy (draw your own). This swap takes a lot of TIME, EFFORT, and CREATIVE THINKING. You will decorate the cap as well as inside of the jar. Be sure to give your fairy a name and backstory (can be on a card attached to the jar).

I have a couple in my flickr and you can also google "captured fairy jar" and get more ideas there.

Both of the above ^ were made by me, as well as the one in the swap photo.

I'm sorry, but due to the cost of shipping internationally and the fact that you'll be using a glass jar to create your fairy's home, USA only. Must have at least 15 RATED Type 3 swaps completed. I reserve the right to ban as I see fit. Please only join if you can complete the swap. I cannot angel this one.

This says glass jar--- could it be plastic like a Miracle Whip. peanut butter, etc.?

KarenLaneWV 07/16/2016 #

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't think a plastic jar is good for something like this!! It's something permanent and glass is so much prettier than plastic!!

BennysMumma 07/16/2016 #

Sorry, but it really should be glass. The plastic ones just look filmy. You can't really see that well through them.

widelo123 07/21/2016 #

Question? How do you prepare these glass jars to send without everything inside becoming one big mess?

Maggie249 07/21/2016 #

and with glass they are very clear to see into I looked at both myself and prefer the glass also my friend gave me a plastic mayo jar that is how I looked at one this is fun do do

prep for mail I think I will stuff mine with tissue paper to hold the inside items in place then recving person can just pull it out and fix anything that might need it

will that worl

Honestly, I glue everything to the jar to make sure that it doesn't move. That way you know that the fairy won't move in transit and if it does happen to fall after your partner receives it, you know it won't be messed up and everything all over the place. You can use either hot glue or E-6000. If you do use the E6000, make sure you let it dry for 24 hours before you move it or it might shift.

Thank you. I might try one first before I join.

Size says a salsa mason jar but that doesn't really give a good indictation on size. What is the minimum size in oz, please?

BennysMumma 07/30/2016 #

Around 16 oz I think is a small mason jar size. That's the size of the salsa jars I use anyway

Maggie249 09/ 9/2016 #
