Description:

Have a book you've been meaning to read? Want to really get your gym routine going? Do you have a task, job, wish that you'd like to fulfill but haven't found the time? This is your chance.

In this swap you will commit yourself to reaching a goal that's meaningful to you.

1.You will have 1 partner.

At the beginning of the 7 day period write an email explaining your goal. Be specific. Don't just say "go to the gym for 7 days". Say "I want to spend 25 minutes exercising for 7 days". That can mean gym, walking the stairs, riding a bike with your significant other, or some combination thereof for a week. (You can also set yourself 7 goals, one for each day)

During the week, document your progress in an email. Send at the end of the week to your partner. Seven entries are required for this email! It's your progress. Be accountable.

Remember to reward yourself for a job well done! Buy yourself flowers, sushi, dedicate an hour to self-spa stuff, whatever! Feel free to send your partner a picture/update of your reward.

To sum it up: 1 partner, 2 emails (intro and the week's progress), pat yourself on the back for being awesome.

I've tried this twice now. There's no better feeling than doing what you set out to accomplish and then bragging about it.

Some ideas for your challenge:

  1. Calling a friend or family member every day
  2. Exercising 25 minutes per day
  3. Give up sugar for 7 days (if you can accomplish that, you are my hero)
  4. Bike/carpool to work
  5. Pack a lunch instead of buying
  6. Take a picture each day
  7. Carve out 1 hour to read the book that's waiting on you.
  8. Try a new recipe
  9. Write 1 new thing you love about yourself each day
  10. Do something new
  11. Tell someone "I love you" and a specific reason why. Make it special and personal.
  12. Give a genuine compliment to a new person every day.
  13. Do a small craft
  14. Stop watching TV.

You can google an endless list if you need inspiration!

All swappers welcome (newbies with well filled out profiles, unrated, and less than a perfect record swappers).

Hi! Just to clarify, do we send one e-mail with each day's entries? Or a separate e-mail every day? I'd prefer to do it similar to a journal and submit all of the entries in one go!

I would love to do this and I need to do this often but I will not be around where I can promise myself or anyone else that I wouldn't mess up from day 1. I hope you choose to run this again.

Mellyrose, two emails. The first to outline the goal you have, and the other full of the seven entries.
