I'm really excited about this one! I love journal scrapbooking. This should be a lot of fun!

Is this the International or the USA only version?

Ups, I read it again and see it is the International one. But what goes wrong with the first international one? I am in and I wonder what is wrong with it. I just work on my journal as much as I can.

I have the spiral journal that has 200 pages but it only has 4 subjects, it's a better quality journal thing, could I use that instead since it has the same number of pages as a 5 subject one?

yea sure rockstar Cosima, its not you there are a couple of people who haven't been checking in and we don't know if they are still finishing the swap. But don't worry, everyone who is doing something will get something in the end.

thanks for your encouraging words. i don't need to think about joining because i fear to not getting something for i think the work of doing the journal is the main fun of this swap. that does not mean that i don't wish to get an awesome journal. i need to think because i have some struggle with my current journal (your mother will see what i am talking about because she will receive my journal) but these problem seem to get solved so that i have lots of ideas for the journal. i keep in touch with your swap and decide soon :-)

im a newbie so i hope you will do this again in the future so i could participate. im working on one like that for myself and have been for a while. its in fl. now and not in tx. so i never get to work on it. but i do hope that in the future i can join and participate for i so do love making scrapbook journals.

wow this sounds like a whole lotta fun, but i am not sure I quite understand the whole concept ... and plus its international, I can't afford to mail such a big notebook ! I wish you loads of luck ... maybe a next time for me !

lol well the concept is simple...you take a 5-subject notebook and make it your personal journal for the year. you can put in whatever you want within reason of course. the notebook wouldn't be that much to send overseas plus you would have a year to save for it if you really are interested.

I did this swap last year and it was so much fun! Even if I don't get a journal, the process of making one was worth it all! I, like rockstar, may use a 3 subject instead.

And by the way, I sent and 70 page compostition notebook overseas and it cost $11. I know rates have now gone up even more than that, but so far only USA and Canada have signed up.

Oh shoot...I didn't realize I needed to post here - just thought I had to be signed in to my account and be current with the site (which I am daily because I'm obsessed with swapping LOL). Mine is coming along fine too! Had a lot of fun with the one last year and am very excited about sending this year :)

Here I am, still working on that journal. This is so much fun that I've started having my students in school journal. They've seen mine (parts) and wanted to join in the fun.

Wow...both the partner I send to and partner I receive from are partially suspended and haven't logged in since March and April. I'm guessing there will be some partner re-assigning so I can hopefully send to and rec from someone else. There is always the hope that they will come back and clear things up before the end of the year though - keeping fingers crossed :)

Checking in, but still haven't heard anything about my situation with both of my partners being suspended. I'm hoping things get shuffled so I can send to someone and someone can send to me. Kinda bummed about the whole thing at the moment.

Still have yet to hear from Amanda if she plans on re-assigning partners due to flakage. I just PM'd her again today. Both my partners are partially suspended and haven't been around in months. I was in part 1 of this last year, sent out my journal and got a great rating. But, I never rec'd one last year because my partner flaked and my new re-assigned partner never sent anything either. I went ahead and joined this one because I really wanted it to work out. But, I'm afraid the same thing will happen again. I'm so done with journal swaps. This is ridiculous.

I'm still here, have no idea what I'm going to do with my journal. Would hate to send to an alternate partner and then one day get burned if my partner ever comes back....what a quandry!

We've all been debating on that same issue. I've been in contact with @kgeslab who was looking into alternative sending possibilities, but it seems we're all scared of the same thing...having our original partners coming back and rating a 1 even though they are flaking big time. It seems really unfair to have to send to someone you know is not going to send their end out just to preserve our hard earned ratings. I wonder if Rachel can step in and help us...maybe shut the whole thing down and then maybe those of us who do have a journal ready can pair up and do small private swaps for them? I don't know. This is a mess. I'll contact Rachel and see if she has time to look into it.

I agree if Rachel can just cancel the entire swap and we can all start over and send to private swaps or so a small invitation only swap with a select group that would be the thing to do.

Update...haven't heard anything back from Rachel yet, but still hoping she has time to give us some advice on this. I just did a count and it appears that only 8 of us are still serious about this swap.

I hope she does too, I am a little behind on my journal with all that has been going on in my life but will still get it out, just want to send it to someone who deserves it. I hope who ever I send to will give a few extra weeks to finish up, things have been so crazy lately! I will keep checking back here for more updates.

If Rachel does not answer, I am not going to send mine to my partner. Although she is no longer suspended that is because her 1's are more than 6 months old now and she hasn't logged in since May of this year. So, I am not sending to her instead I left a comment on her page asking not to rate me a 1 if she would so kind and to contact me should she ever return to swap-bot and if I haven't sent mine to someone else who got flaked on in this swap then I would send mine or start making her another one at that time. I think that sounds fair. So, I am going to mark it sent and be done with this swap. Should anyone need a journal contact me and I will try to see what I can do about customizing it for someone else who needs one for this swap. Thank you all.
