Description:

I got this idea from the international Rainbow Swap (http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/2101). This swap is similar, but has one twist...which I'll get to lately. To our international friends, I'm sorry not to include you. Lately I've been shocked at the post office at how much it costs to send items outside the U.S. border. I want to spend my money on the items that will be going into the swap and not worry so much about their weight. So, this swap is for those of us who love rainbows and would like to share them without being inhibited by postal fees.

You will have 1 swap partner.

You will send one item to your swap partner in each of the colors of the rainbow, plus a rainbow item. Send 1 item each of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and rainbow for 7 items total.

The items you send must be usable. Don't just send a red label from a can of soup. Send a red comb or red key chain or something else your partner can use.

I've allowed a lot of time between sign up and sending because there's one twist that makes this swap different from the international swap. Don't buy your items until after you are matched up. As a "detective," you will search your partner's profile for clues of things he/she would enjoy. When you sign up, don't put your wishlist here. Just make sure your profile includes the things you like. Include your blog, photo album or other webpage in your profile so your partner can sniff it out for clues as to what you would enjoy.

When it comes time for rating, I hope people rate not only by whether or not their partner sent them 7 items that match the rainbow colors, but also took the time to be a detective and figure out what you would enjoy.

I will check the ratings of everyone who signs up. If you have any no sends, get them cleared before signing up. I will ban people whose ratings show they don't know how to follow the rules and play fair. ;-) If you are a newbie, please e-mail me and let me know if you've been in swaps on other sites or groups.

I hate to put a dollar amount on things because it's hard to put a dollar value on something you've made. The items can be handmade items or store bought or something you bought but never used and may not remember how much it cost you.

As a guideline, it could cost $10-15. You may have some items that are inexpensive and one really nice item, or you might spend about $2 per item. Just make sure you are sending something you would like to receive. Don't send unuseable junk. Send something that will put a smile on the face of your partner.

Please remember to update your profiles so that the person who sends to you has a good chance of sending you something you'll really enjoy. Add links to wish lists, blogs, photo albums, etc. -- anything that will give your partner some good clues of what you like.

I'm off to go update my profile now! ;-)

Well, I didn't have luck editing my profile. I received an error message. I think the site owners must be working on the site. Just thought I would let you all know in case you run into an error message, too. Just try again another time.

Ah! I got in to edit my profile. Yippee!!!

Just a reminder -- if you don't have a lot of information in your profile, you might want to add it so that your detective partner has something to go on.
