Description:

This is our third installment and a bit of a jump from last month (I originally listed 60 miles). I am setting it higher to push us. If that is a limiting factor for you, feel free to share with your partner or in the comments a more realistic and achievable goal of your own.

If you like to bike, you may be interested in The Great Cycle Challenge .

For the month of June move 75 intentional miles (an average of 2.5 each day). Take a walk. Go for a quick run or light jog. Bike. Swim! Row! Elliptical. Hike. Rock Climb. Whatever floats your boat and moves your body!
The goal is to get moving every day, but if you can't--that's okay. Just strive to reach 75 miles by the end of the month.

Log each day (or mile)'s progress.

Around the middle of the month (June 13-17th), send a Swap-Bot message to your partner letting them know how far you've come. This is meant to provide mid-month accountability and allow you to course correct as needed. This is part of the swap requirements.

At the end of the month, send your partner your tracking log and at least a few sentences about the swap experience. Also include a flat surprise such as a postcard, notecard, stickers, tea, etc. Check your partner's profile for ideas and avoid allergies, but this is sender's choice.

In sum:
1). Get movin'! About 2.5 miles each day.
2). Track your progress.
3). Send a mid-month check-in of your mileage to your partner via SB message.
4). Mail your log, reflections, and flat surprise at the end of the month.

It's getting warmer out there, so don't forget to stay hydrated!

Hope we all enjoy this and come back next month! Let me know if you have any questions.

Looking Ahead
In July, we'll attempt 100 miles.

Oh dear. I'm going to dread August. :P

I thought June was 60 miles lol. This is quite a jump from 45 to 75, but I am ready for the challenge! I think I have 3 or 4 5Ks scheduled... there's 12 or so miles right there lol.

pahasiga 05/12/2017 #

Thankfully, what with having a bike trip planned to start of July and wanting to go orienteering twice a week thorough summer, I think I would be able to manage... but, in September... nooo.

Bhindblueeyes, I understand that you can announce that you are going to do 60 miles instead - "a more realistic and achievable goal of your own".

Bhindblueeyes 05/15/2017 #

As I said, I'm ready for the challenge.

mellyrose89 05/15/2017 #

I'm aiming for 50 miles, which is around 80km. 75 miles is 120km which may be too much for me! This will hopefully encourage me to get into the pool more often :D

pahasiga 05/16/2017 #

A mile swimming and a mile biking are not really equal at all! When I'm tired, I go for some easy miles and just bike around the block or something. :P If you aim for swimming 50 miles... wow, just wow.

And this is why I hate not having new group swap notifications....I missed this one :(

HannahEnilk 06/ 1/2017 #

Ah, so sorry @CajunLady I'd be happy to do a private swap. I have also posted a few more Move It swaps I hope you can join or watch.

mellyrose89 06/14/2017 #

I've already hit 46.77 miles! So I might even beat 75 miles, even though my original goal was 50 miles :D

HannahEnilk 06/15/2017 #

Well done, @mellyrose89

pahasiga 07/ 1/2017 #

Considering that it is winter for @mellyrose89 , especially well done! It is easier to walk and bike and run around during summer IMO.

No rating from @pahasiga yet. I mailed on July 2. I've messaged to see if this arrived.
