Sock Yarn (International) Swap #1

This swap is an international version of the US-only one ChristineOMFG is holding, because I adore sock yarn and I bet there are a bunch of other non-US folks who do too :)

So, this gives you the chance to pass on those skeins you may have bought because it seemed like a good idea at the time or it was on sale or you had all the excellent intentions of knitting a pair of socks for your brother/aunt/work colleague but then found out they had a wool allergy and you hate that particular colour... anyway, you get the drift. Skeins you once loved or are surplus to requirements will find a new home.

As it's an international swap, I'm going to set a few standards so you don't end up getting something that's worth less than what you spent on postage to send your own parcel. All skeins must:

• Be whole and unused, and come complete with the label. Skein, hank, ball or wound into a cake are all fine as long as they've not been knit with.

• Be at least 75% natural fibre. A lot of really good sock yarn is plied with up to 25% nylon to give strength and improve wearability and that's great but any more makes for sweaty feet and static-y shawls. Please send something you'd be happy to knit with!

• Be 100g or more (approx 350-400m) so enough to make a decent sized pair of socks. Two 50g balls will do the job nicely as well. Fingering/4ply/sock weight.

Colour is totally sender's choice - don't mark your partner down if they send you neon green and you're an earthy brown kind of person - although if you find they've sent you something that actually ticks your boxes, please give them a heart. Optional extras are totally optional but will definitely earn hearts (just watch the postage weight!).

Minimum rating of 4.9 please, no unexplained 3s or 1s.
