We all need encouragement from time to time -- positive affirmations, reminders that we're loved, affirming words, encouragement to keep going. So we're going to swap some!! Please be as creative as possible. Don't just scribble out some phrases on paper ... not that a few of those aren't okay. But the more creative the better. Hearts for creativity and range of encouragement and hope included in the package. My original idea for the container was a bottle because I like the phrase "a bottle of hope", but the container you choose is up to you. Try to decorate it or use one that's already decorative. Try experimenting with media, it never hurts! Go for at least 15 encouragements, affirmations, you're-worth-it's! But as always, the more the merrier. Once you receive your package, try paying a few of them forward by leaving them in unexpected places like library books or bathroom stalls! Leave them for yourself in places where you might need them as well, like your desk or your creative space for those blocked times. Remember, this swap is about encouragement, hope, and promoting inner strength when times get icky or even mildly icky. Everyone is welcome because it wouldn't be very encouraging for a hope swap to ban anyone. Just please don't flake. (if anyone does, I'll angel, no worries) 2 partners each because I know it's a busy time of year. Thanks to an awesome suggestion, I have extended the send date so everyone has a bit more time to get their things together after the holidays! Also, please read your partners profiles before including encouragement of a religious nature. For people who aren't religious and are having a day where they feel discouraged, pulling a "god loves you" note out of their package might emphasize a feeling of disconnection or alienation. And that's pretty much the opposite of what we're going for here. Feel free to post below on that matter if you want! |
