Description:

The thought of the upcoming Holidays always puts me in a "Giving Mood"!!

I Love the warm & fuzzy feeling that "giving" gives you!!

This will be a swap that is Totally about Giving!!

The Rules:

  • You will make/buy something to donate to charity. This is any item you wish. This could be Warm gloves, Baby Blankets, Pet items for pet shelters, Toys for Tots items, anything you wish to make or buy to be donated.
  • You will then take a picture of the item you are donating. Print a picture of the item you are donating. You do not have to print high quality images or even on photo paper, printer paper will work fine, just make sure you can see the image clearly.
  • Donate the item.
  • Write a note to your partner about what you gave to charity & why you picked that particular charity.
  • Send the note along with the picture of what you donated to your partner!

That's it!!

Now, I know that I run the risk of someone scamming on this one & only pretending to donate something, but I am really hoping that everyone will get in on the Holiday Giving Spirit and truly be honest about this one!! Newbies are welcome & it is an international swap! Especially since all you'll be mailing to your actual partner is an envelope! People are needy everywhere & this is a charity of YOUR choice!!

Also, I'm giving a MONTH to finish this swap, should be plenty of time if you are making something & people are Needy at all times of the year!!

Ratings: if the person met the swap requirements they deserve a 5. And, since this is for Charity, this is the one time I think we should add a Heart for their giving spirit!!

{raises my hand} I like giving to the Humane Society. I plan on giving a donate... Can I take a picture of that?

IslandBroad 11/19/2008 #

What I meant was a "CASH" donation. Do I take a picture of the check I send?

MamaD 11/20/2008 #

sure that would work, I don't see why not!!

I just featured this swap as swap of the week on the blog. Great swap idea!

I thought of this swap idea a month ago! But I couldn't quite figure out how to make it work, and I certainly wouldn't have worded it as eloquently as you have. Hooray!

Just a fyi--my daughter just got out of hospital so I can tell you first hand that a little toy or blanket makes a giant difference for a little one facing tests, surgery, treatment.

I love this idea. It would be great to have a swap like this one all during the year to remind us that giving is for all seasons.
