O: Ocean/Nautical Whimsy Jar

It's been a long time since I've seen a whimsy jar swap here on Swap-Bot, so I thought that we should have one here in this group!

A whimsy jar is a mason jar (or other, similar food jar) that you fill with items as outlined in the swap theme and description. The top should be decorated to fit the theme but if you like, you can decorate the whole jar!

For our whimsy jar, we'll take a 32 ounce (0.94 litre) size mason jar, or commensurate, CLEAN food jar (perhaps one that once held a marinara sauce!) and fill it with ocean and/or nautical (or both!) themed goodies. These goodies don't have to be specifically profile based, but you must look at your partner's profile to avoid sending anything that they have listed as a dislike or they have an allergy to. Because this swap is international, you may NOT send sand or other organics you found on a beach like dried seaweed! So, what are some things you might include?

• Small shells

• Ocean or nautical themed charms

• Seaglass

• Ocean or nautical themed stickers

• Ocean or nautical themed brads

• Ocean coloured or inspired ribbon or other fabrics (e.g., blue, turquoise, sea green, purple...the colours of the sea)

This is just a small list of ideas you can include, but the idea is to spoil your partner with ocean or nautical (or both!) themed wonders in a pretty jar!

In a Nutshell

• One 32 oz (.94 litre) mason jar or same sized food jar that has been cleaned and sanitized, has no food residue or odor, filled with ocean or nautical (or both!) themed and inspired goodies, to one partner.

• Decorate the lid of the jar (at a minimum) in an ocean or nautical theme.

• Do NOT send sand or other organic matter such as dried seaweed you've scavenged from the beach.

• You MAY send found seashells as long as they are clean and free of sand and other beach debris (and their former occupant please...).

• Goodies should not include anything listed on your partner's dislikes or allergies list. Make sure that you've listed your dislikes and allergies well!

The Administrivia

• Send on time. Rate promptly upon receipt. Sending late without communication warrants a 3 rating and removal from the group. Not rating or having to be chased for a rating also warrants removal from the group. Communicate and rate.

• Rate according to the Swap-Bot Rating Criteria. Failure to rate your partner or to rate correctly will result in your removal from this group.

• If you are going to be late sending, make sure you let your partner and me know prior to the send-by date.

• Hearts are purely at the discretion of the rater.
