My Life in Songs

We all have significant songs in our lives that remind us of key moments we've experienced. This swap is all about getting to know someone else through songs.

Choose between five and ten songs that have meaning in your life and write a handwritten letter to one partner explaining the significance of each song and how it makes you feel when you hear it now.

For each song you explain, tell your partner the song title and artist(s).

You might want to list your songs chronologically (the order they 'entered' your life or became significant) but you don't have to.

Here is a random example, just to illustrate what I mean:

'My sixth significant song is 'Riverside' by Agnes Obel because I listened to it a great deal as I was writing my first book at the age of 28. It has a hauntingly beautiful melody and always made me feel very calm when I was writing in the early hours of the morning. Hearing it now makes me feel calm still but also a little bit sad because I'm lacking motivation to write at the moment.'

The key to this swap is that your partner should be able to learn a lot about you whilst perhaps picking up some new song titles to listen to.

Feel free to include added extras but it is not a requirement of this swap and should not be the only reason someone gets a heart.
