Description:

For this swap you will create three mixed media artist trading coins for one partner.

Artist Trading coins are 2.5" in diameter. Please create them on a sturdy substrate.

These coins should have a Christmas theme. Both secular and religious images are fine. This is a sender's choice swap.

Please try to use several different techniques on your coins (painting, drawing, stenciling, layering, stamping, coloring, etc.) Stickers may be used as part of the design if they are incorporated artistically and are not just "sticker slapped". Be creative and have fun!

any ideas on how to store or display these round beauties? Christmas tree comes to mind but what about artist trading coins that are not Christmas themed? artist trading cards fit inside of baseball sleeves and so do these but I feel there has to be a more original concept for these beauties..

oh and im hosting another swap like this one on the main board. Christmas themed...I really want to see more of these, they were fun to make.

I have punched 2 holes in them about an inch apart and strung them on a ribbon to make a garland. I am thinking of rethreading them with beads between to keep them from slipping together.

I plan to put some of my Christmas and Winter coins on greeting cards and then use some as ornaments on my tree. Here is what I have done with the coins I have received: I back then with a 2.5 x 2.5" square of color coordinated scrapbook paper, put them into a clear ATC sleeve, fold the top over snugly and tape it in place, then place the coins in a pretty bowl on my coffee table where I can look at them.

i like the display ideas! of course, being a mermaid lover..i plan to do a ton of these in mermaid theme. I've been making Christmas ones all week so that all of my card swaps get one! not sure why these haven't been a thing yet!

Agreed! They are a fun size and shape to work with. I am making extra holiday ones for my greeting cards too! After the holiday hassle I would love to swap some mermaid coins with you!
