Description:

We will study the Gospel of John in 7 parts, looking at 3 chapters per study. This is the second part of the 7-part series.

You will read the John 4-6 and then answer the questions below. Send your answers to your partner. Your Q & A may be typed or handwritten.

Chapter Four

  1. What trait do Nicodemus and the woman at the well share?
  2. Why is the fact that Jesus spoke to the woman at the well good news for us?

  4. What is living water? What does it mean to be satisfied by it?
  5. What are the three main truths of Christianity?
  6. Why does it matter that the woman understands the depths of her sin? Why not just call her a sinner in general terms?
  7. What are some excuses you use for not sharing the gospel? How are these excuses an evidence of unbelief?
  8. What is our role in salvation, and what is God's role? Why is this good news?
  9. How is informed belief about Jesus necessary for authentic faith?
  10. What titles have been used for Jesus through the first four chapters of John, and what do they tell us about Jesus?

Chapter Five

  2. What does it mean that Jesus "is not able to do anything on His own" (John 5:19)?
  3. Why does Jesus describe John the Baptist as a lamp?
  4. What is the primary purpose of Scripture?

Chapter Six

  2. Why is Moses used as a comparison for Jesus?
  3. Have you ever noticed your own spiritual hunger?
  4. Summarize Jesus's sermon in the passage John 6:22-60 with three major truths.
  5. In John 6:35-40, 61-65, what three truths about the elect do we see?
  6. Who are the elect?
  7. Why do the elect come to Jesus? Why is this good news?
  8. Why are you unable to come to God on your own?
