BSS Black Moon Ritual

"Black Moon" is not a well known astronomical term. The term "Black Moon" is the Dark Moon's (or New Moon) equivalent of the term Blue Moon, which is applied to the Full Moon. Black Moons hold special significance to people who practice certain forms of Pagan religions and who believe certain actions become more potent when performed on the night of a Black Moon. Some say that no magic should be worked on the Black Moon. Others believe that the moon's energy is highly amplified at this time. If you are of the latter state of mind, this swap will hopefully appeal to you.

The idea of Blue Moons and Black Moons is only about two centuries old, so there are no ancient pagan traditions to draw on. Any beliefs about Blue and Black Moons would be modern, and therefore subject to great individual interpretation and practice. Whether it is your time to give thanks for what manifested in the last lunar cycle, or time to put forth a petition for what you want to bring to fruition in the next, write a ritual/spell for the next Black Moon (July 31, 2019). Format is up to you, handwritten or printed, full page or index card, etc.

In addition, write a letter to your partner describing what you will be working towards or showing gratitude for. Letters may be typed or handwritten, please remember to include the swap name and your username. I will be hosting this swap in other groups, hopefully you will not have the same partner if you sign up in the different groups. If this occurs, please contact your partner and come to an agreement on how to complete the individual swaps: perhaps you can send a petition ritual and letter for one and a gratitude ritual without a letter for the other. Communication will be very important at this point.
