QnT MAQ Challenge USA 2020 #1 Hexagon or Octagon

8-20-20 thru 9-20-20

--one MAQ = (MINI ART QUILT) sized at least 6” X 6” up to as big as sender cares to make it

--# 1 using hexagon or octagon cuts, any size or color, at least one hexagon or octagon

For this MAQ Challenge series we will attempt to go beyond just putting cuts of fabric together to create our projects, let’s use our imaginations and create something new and different. What does that mean, you ask yourself? Well, use embellishments, embroidery, varied fabrics, prints, plain colors, textured items, things you wouldn’t normally put on a MAQ. Think of trying new things with arrangements, techniques. For inspiration, maybe exploring the inter-net or a design book, or even looking at nature to get your creative juices flowing.

Requirements for each swap in this series:

1. Do neat work and be sure to attach a label on the back with the name of your creation. I usually add my swap-bot name, my city and state, and a date to the label as well.

2. Avoid scented additions to your project or fragile food related items to your creation – considering recipient allergies, stability during shipment, etc.

3. Be sure to take a picture of your creation to add to your portfolio. (not really required but a good idea anyway)

I am excited to see what we can envision and create! Oh, the picture attached is just a mild example, not required.

Future MAQ swaps:

--2 round/rounded/curved cuts – maybe drunkards path block, or circles, or yoyos, etc.

--3 triangles/pie wedges

--4 sender’s choice (maybe a combo of all the other swap shapes)
