Description:

Pink is one of my favourite colours so what could be better than a matchbox that is pink? All you have to do is cover a small matchbox (32ct) with something pink, could be fabric or pretty paper and fill it with all pink things. You could put in buttons, brads, small stickers, anything that will fit!

Matchboxes don't weigh too much so this swap is international.

Newbies are welcome, but please fill out your profile with likes and dislikes and not just a few lines! I will ban people who seem fishy!

Everybody else is welcome but I will checking all profiles before I assign partners! People above 4.85.

Please contact me if you have any questions about this swap or leave a comment.

Enjoy!!!!

I have looked all over (my town) for 32 count matchboxes- they do not seem to carry them in the stores anymore. I have only been able to find the larger ones.

Any sugguestions?

AnnMarie 02/ 8/2009 #

I'm not sure where else you could look, I get mine from grocery stores or petrol stations, maybe try ebay they might have blank ones.

preservingmemories2000 02/ 9/2009 #

Hi I found them at Walmart in the baking pan section. Someone else suggested looking at a Dollar store.

MommyToJohn 02/10/2009 #

Wal-Mart carries them also in the craft section of their stores. In the blank boxes, frames section.

hoosiergirl 02/14/2009 #

I get mine at Wal-Mart, Target and the Dollar Tree :0)

Sorry if I sound nubbish but this looks like so much fun, hope you will allow me to participate. :)

I found a huge pack of matchboxes at the dollar store. It was like 6 or so for a $1. I haven't really seen them anywhere else or maybe I just wasn't looking. I love pink and matchboxes but atm I am too full with other swaps to join. Maybe on the next go around.

anaferraz 03/ 3/2009 #

That's a cool idea. I don't like pink, so I'll wait for another matchbox swap.

Can anyone tell me what a 32ct matchbox is? Sorry for that question :) I don´t know this size name here in Austria... I think it is just a normal sized matchbox, am I right? Thx a lot!

AnnMarie 03/ 3/2009 #

Its a normal small matchbox you pick up in places like petrol stations and super markets.

Elizha 03/ 4/2009 #

Thx a lot for the info :) What do you do with all these matches? gg

Birdlady 03/ 4/2009 #

Are we checking our partner's profile so we can make sure we send things they like/ will find useful?

AnnMarie 03/ 4/2009 #

Sure you can check partners profile and send them useful things in pink.

sonyaoku 03/ 4/2009 #

Does anyone know a really good way of recycling the matchsticks?

SkippyMom 03/ 4/2009 #

You can definitely find the smaller matchboxes in the camping section of any sporting goods store - I get mine for about $2.40 for 8 [Coleman brand - if that helps]

zigg13pra 03/ 4/2009 #

You can also search online for templates to print your own on cardstock. (Wow, 2.40 for just 8? That's a rip off! They are less than $1 for 8 at Walmart)

Have you seen Rachel's matchbox template on the swap-bot blog? Just print out the pdf file and make your own matchbox, then you don't have to pay for match boxes or figure out what to do with all those matches!! Making it that way is WAY easier to decorate. The link for her template is in the "What is new" section near the bottom of the swap-bot homepage.

cheniros 03/ 6/2009 #

Can someone please write down the size of a 32 ct matchbox. I'm confused...

groovyjar 03/ 6/2009 #

OK How do you fit a bunch of items in that little box? Just curious.

jacksbluejane 03/ 6/2009 #

I just got 10 diamond brand from Walmart for .97 :)

AnnMarie 03/ 6/2009 #

Groovyjar, you just use small little things like stickers tiny pegs and beads, its pretty fun I think.

jacksbluejane 03/ 6/2009 #

Mine's Done!!!! :) Gotta go mail it!

jacksbluejane 03/ 6/2009 #

And now I'll forever be keeping an eye out for little things to put in matchboxes!

WarLordsWife 03/ 7/2009 #

On how to recycle the matches: find a local scout group and offer them to the boys. They can water proof them by dipping into wax. It is a good way to just store them as well. It doesn't take long and the matches will last a long time. A good way to take them camping as well, if you know someone who camps, or has a fireplace.

rainbowdaze 03/14/2009 #

wow, I get 10 or 12 for a dollar at The Dollar Tree. I never looked at Walmart, but I will next time I'm there. Thanks for the tip @jacksbluejane ... I'm always at Walmart so getting them for .97 cents would be great! Awesome for sure.

buddhafly 03/23/2009 #
