New Year's Eve Zoom Celebration!

The idea for this swap came from the success of the Quarantine Halloween Zoom Party that was held last month - We had such a great time we all said it would be great to do it again, so we are!

So, on December 31, 2020 from 8 pm to 10 pm EST, we will meet up on Zoom and open our gifts from our partners, we'll catch up on what we did for our Holidays, and I will discuss some exciting plans I have for the group for next year! I will send everyone who signs up for the swap, an invite to the Zoom call right after Christmas. It will be sent in a message here on swap-bot and in an email.

You are not required to attend the Zoom meeting to participate in this swap. While it would be amazing to see so many of you online, I understand that many will not want or be able to do so.

Here is how this swap element will work. It will be a gift exchange swap with one partner. You will be sending your partner a package filled with a bunch of great items - including:

• 5 wrapped gifts.

These gifts should be as profile specific as possible. They do not all have to be Halloween themed, but you should make a few of them Halloween if you can. Gifts can include crafting items, jewelry or fashion accessories, plush, books, fuzzy socks.

The value of these items should be about $2+ each, but try not to spend over $20 total for the gifts. All items must be new and sealed in their original packaging.

You may send 1 handmade item that either yourself or someone else has made. Handmade items need to be NON paper projects (no ATCs, postcards, note cards)

I am going to request NO bath or beauty products because there are so many members with allergies and many have requested for these items not to be sent. Also,do not send food or candy as one of the gift items, as we will be sending treats as another part of the swap.

All gifts should be wrapped nicely in either Holiday, or Halloween paper. Add some great embellishments (ribbon, washi, stickers)

• a packet or two of warm beverages

This may include tea bags, packets of hot chocolate or hot apple cider. Do not send K cups or other specialized pods unless your partner mentions in their profile that they would like to receive these. You are only required to send one, but you may include more if you'd like

• One full size sweet treat

The sweet treat can include a package of chocolates or other candy that your partner likes, a commercially packaged baked good (be mindful of anything crumbly or delicate as they may get crushed in shipping)

Please make sure to carefully check your partners profile for food allergies and dislikes. If unsure, feel free to message your partner to ask.

• A card with a message of Cheer!

The card is open themed - you can send a Halloween card, a Holiday card, a fun happy theme that your partner likes, just make sure to write a nice note - a few paragraphs of year end cheer! The card can be handmade.

Place all items in a sturdy box, making sure to wrap anything fragile in bubble wrap (tissue is not enough protection for anything fragile!) Please decorate the outside of the shipping box festivity. The brown box should be completely covered so that it looks wonderful and festive. Be sure to have an area with your partners address and your return address clearly marked.

Please do not open your package when it arrives, hold on to it until the party on the 31st.

If you do not wish or are unable to attend the party, that is perfectly acceptable, and you may open your package whenever you wish - please be sure to rate your partner after you open.

For anyone attending the party, please message your partner once you have received their gift. You may wait until after the party to rate, if you wish.
